I grew up in Vancouver and decided after several years of living in Portland to move back. My husband and I didn't do much looking before we picked Aspenridge. The main reason we grabed it was the rent special. When we moved was $599 a month for a 2 bedroom, 1.6 bath townhouse. It's a great deal for $599 a month! However our year lease is almost up and I believe the rent will go up to the regular $675. When that happens we may move to another place. The townhouse layout is nice, the kitchen is a bit small. Our stairs make a bunch of noise and I feel bad sometimes for our downstairs neighbor. My 15 pound cat running up and down the stairs makes soooo much noise! Sounds like a heard of cattle on those stairs. Other than the that, it seems very well insulated. The neighbor next to us has two large dogs and we never hear a peep from them!

We did have some trouble when we first moved with our neighbor next to us. He was very young and stupid. He liked to have his rap music playing throughout the night. I don't mind the music, but when the base is knocking pictures off your wall, that's a bad thing. We complained several times about him to the management. Everytime they gave him a warning. At first we didn't think the management believed us, or that they thought is wasn't that loud. But the night that the youngin' next door decided to stick ham on our door with mustard, that was basically the last straw. After my husband had words with him, several times, we heard him talking very loud on his patio to his pot-friends about sneaking up on my husband when he's not expecting it and "jacking him up". Well by that point we really had enough. I was worried about our cars or something happening to my husband. Not that he couldn't have taken the brat, but there was like 6 pot-heads planning this attack. We left messages on the voice mail of the management. First thing the next morning, they called us and apologized. They felt bad we had such a horrible time with this kid. They promised to handle everything and assured us we would be safe. Believe me, the kid was quiet after that. In fact a few weeks later my husband talked to the management who told him they gave the kid till the end of the month to get out. I thought that was pretty cool of them considering we were fairly new renters and the place was pretty empty. I think they really needed renters. Obviously they don't need renters like that!

Since rent may be going up, we were looking for a larger place with a washer and dryer. Yes, that's right no washer or dryer in this place. It sounds bad, but honestly when once a week you can get ALL you laundry done in a few hours, it's kinda nice. But alas, I'm too spoiled and lazy...I want a washer and dryer!

Other than that and the rent possibly going up, it's a very nice place. It's a bit older and used, but very nice for a young couple and in a very, very nice location. We love the cascade park area and feel very safe here.
