Lived here 3 1/2 years. I'm actually moving out later this month because I just bought a house but I've lived here since I moved to Vancovuer and it's really a great place. Sad to move as I really love the floor-plan and the spaciousness of the apartment.
The apartments are older but they're very well kept. They were just painted last year and on a whole the outside of the complex actually looks better now than it did when I first moved in. The carpet, linoleum and paint quality are very good for an apartment.
I had a townhouse and loved the spaciousness and the floor-plan and the two-story layout with the deck outside the master bedroom. Very nice. People who I've known in the one bedrooms seem to be pretty happy with those too. The rent prices are extremely reasonable and overall you're really going to get a lot more for your money with this place compared to other places.
Living here so long I went through many sets of neighbors but despite what other people have written the insulation is good and you really can't hear your neighbors. You're gonna get your mix of good and bad neighbors with apartments but overall I think management does a good job of vetting people before they allow them to move in.
Parking is OK. As good if not better than other places around here. I think the carports are really affordable, something like $10-15/mth so that's a small price to pay for an extra parking spot if you need it. The laundry on-site really isn't that much of a pain. The washers and dryers are very big and they're inexpensive but do a great job. Never once had laundry stolen or any issues.
Management is very nice and knowledgeable. Caren is extremely empathetic and really does a great job running the place and taking care of residents' issues. The first assistant manager was a complete idiot and a ----- but she was canned (I think in 2006) and the new one (Alisha) is a lot better and seems to work really well with Caren. I had maybe two minor maintenance calls the entire time I lived there and they all went very smoothly so I give high marks to the maintenance staff as well.
Having been to apartment complexes all around the area visiting friends I can really say that if I had to do the last 3 1/2 years all over again I definitely wouldn't change where I chose to live. Friends were always envious of the size and spaciousness of my apartment and I always had cheaper rent than other people I knew renting 2 bedroom places around the area. I recommended two of my friends to the place during my tenure and they offer referral bonuses which is real nice.
