Not worth the hassles.

When I moved to Brentwood, I was impressed by the location and nice looking apartments. They looked upper class and well built. Looks can be deceiving as I have learned. The walls are thin and ceilings thinner. Doors close loudly, washing and dryers, dishwashers, even the refrigerators are loud. Living rooms have fireplaces in strange places so that there is only one real way to set up your house. Privacy is almost impossible as my wife and I have found out from our neighbors.

After about 2 weeks of the endless hunts for a parking spot, we decided to rent a tiny covered parking spot. So far I have only scratched the paint off my car once. Parking is so bad that people have begun parking in places that have no assigned slots. This has led to the destruction of a light pole, cars parking in the actual roadway, and cars double parking. I have narrowly avoided hitting a few cars. Also if I pay for that small slot, I would expect it to be mine, the staff has tried to double rent the slot to another renter a few times. I frequently find cars parked in my paid slot only to have the towing company inform me that I can not have a car towed unless the office contacts the towing company. I am left to wait for either the person to leave or track them down and force him to move it.

The conditions of the apartments aren?t that much better. Almost of all the home appliances have broken and needed repair. Only after you threaten with the Landlord Tenant laws has there been immediate action to repair anything.

Theft is a serious problem here. Twice my car has been broken into and articles stolen. This might be due to the staff?s renting of apartments to drug dealers. Drugs are a serious issue too. I have found crack/pot pipes in the grass from time to time. From the staff I get the same response, ?Call Metrowatch,? on more than one occasion I have called only to find the officer appears at his normal patrol hours. I have seen fist fights, screaming matches, drug deals, overdosed teenagers puking in my ?yard? and other events that I would expect from a Greek frat house.

The staff does not listen and will not help resolve problems. They are only concerned with getting new renters and making sure that you stay. I have seen more flyers for cheaper rent if I sign a new 12 month lease than a ?We are fixing ??

Brentwood is too expensive for this many hassles. I would avoid it like the plague it is. There is a lot better for this price. Oh and one more thing, if you are taking a tour, watch out for the dog mess. The staff hates it if you manage to drag that in on the ?newly? cleaned carpets.

I agree with this. Parking does suck. Maintenance is kept up fairly well. I have had only 2 major problems in the last 18 mo. I went with out hot water for 4 days because another apartment was more important! Over all I would reccommend it for young people no kids. The dog poop is a big issue, no one cleans it up ever! and People drive way to fast here and nothing is ever done about it.
