Brentwood is awful! We moved in and found out our apartment was infested with fleas. The mananagement told us that it was from walking in the grass. Um, no...all of the other apartments in our half of the building had the same problem-the people on the other side had ants. We found cat toys in our apartment, and then after a couple of months my 6 month old son found cat crap in our apartment!!! We don't have animals. We were finally able to convince Kathy (the manager) to do something-she gave us $100 off our rent, but then wanted us to sign something stating that an undertermined material was found and that we would not sue or anything. I refused to sign unless it said "cat feces". They refused and I told them that we were breaking our lease. WA law=20 days notice. She said we had to give minimum 30 days. We went rounds for a couple of days. Finally got everything ironed out...gave us copies of all of the paper work saying that we were only responsible for the remainder of the rent. A month later I get a bill in the mail for cleaning the apartment. Uh, no, the apt. wasn't cleaned when we moved in and no where in our lease did it say that we had to pay for cleaning...that's what a cleaning deposit is and they told us that they would waive it when we signed our lease. So now we have a huge black mark when it comes to renting an apartment because we broke our lease and they say that we owe them money...The management sucks, the apartments are overpriced, all and all the place is horrible
