Okay, first off, I have stayed in some apartment complexes that were way worse.

That said, Brentwood is by no means a residence of luxury and marvelous upkeep.

I'll start with the Pros...
- The entrance to the complex is well maintained and guests get a very good first impression
- The rates are reasonable
- The fitness center is usually empty
- Washer and Dryer included in apartment

Cons...
- Parking is a nightmare.

The layout is horrible and spaces are very small.

This is not the apartment complex's total fault though.

There are a ton of residents with extremely large trucks and SUVs.

Parking is not assigned unless you pay for a carport or garage.
- There are many "questionable residents".

I know the people below me smoke pot on a regular basis but I dont complain because they're quiet which is a plus.

Many residents have small children that they dont supervise and let run all over the complex.

Young children, Im talking 4, 5, and 6 year olds.

One of my neighbors hit one of the kids with her car because the child darted out from behind a bush chasing a ball.

Luckily there were witnesses that saw that it was not my neighbor's fault, not to mention she was only going 5 miles an hour but still...
- Maintenance is so so.

I went to wash dishes one afternoon and found there was no water.

This was a little alarming so i called the office.

After ten minutes of ringing and no answer I walked down to the office.

There was nobody in the office which got me a little cheezed off.

So I sat in the lobby for another ten minutes waiting.

Finally I hear the flush of a toilet and the receptionist walked out, didnt even notice me at first, then seemed alarmed when she looked up and saw me.

I proceeded to ask her why i had no water.

She explained that there was a major pipe leakage and that they turned the water off that morning around 8 am.

I received no friendly notice on my door and no phone call although they had shut off the water 8 hours earlier.
- I have never used the pool due to the fact that if it is warm enough to go swimming it is swarming with unsupervised kids of all ages.

There usually isnt even enough room in the pool with children covernig every inch of it and teenagers taking up all 20 of the lounge chairs.

I know that management has little control over this fact but it is something to consider before moving here.

- The ladies at the office seem really snooty too.

Fake smiles and defensive demeanors.
- The dumpsters are too small.

Week after week they are overflowing with dirty diapers, used qtips and pizza boxes littering the ground below them.

When I first moved in, the dumpsters were a decent size but they replaced all of them with smaller ones.

This sort of ticks me off because garbage service is not included in the rent.

So, since they dont pay as much with the smaller dumpsters, do I pay less' No, I just get to view nastiness and struggle with figuring out where to put my garbage since its piled so high that bags will just roll off the dumpster pile.

Arghhh.....

hope you photographed and documented EVERYTHING when you moved in. When we moved out they trumped up all these "damages" that we supposedly did and got a nice 1,250.00 bill. They even charged us to partially remodel the kitchen. Tried to work something out w/them but they wouldn't even let us make payments. Sent us to collections after 30 days and has put a dent in my credit. Not good.
