The other day, I came home from work, my apartment had a horrible smell. I went to the manager & asked her to please come smell my apartment, she told me "NO". I asked her 3times, got the same response. She then touched the phone and said to call Mainantice. I thought to myself, Why can she not call the maintentice for me, Why do I have to go home & call him, Is this not her job''' Well, I went home one of my neighbors, was coming down the stair, I asked him to come smell my apartment and see if he could tell me, what it was, He said, It was a toxic smell. Come to find the that next door to me they were spraying the counter top, the man has to wear a gas mask, not to get the fumes into himself. The neighbor went with me to the office, the office was closed 1/2 early. With no note to say why. So, I called the maintence man, he came and Said this is toxic it, would need to air out the apartment. He offered me the model apartment, but I would have to leave my apartment open to get all the toxic fumes out. I chose to not go to the model apartment and have a fan, with all the doors and windows open. so that none of my stuff would be stolen, with everything open. I got a bad headache & was coughing the next day. I called the manager, asked for a $50.00 credit for this. She told me, no credit because I would not stay in the model apartment, which was offered to me. I told her that this is not right, i could not leave my apartment wide open, for someone to steal my stuff from my apartment. She told me too bad, this is business. I did end up talking to the owner, he said he will help. but as of today i have not heard any thing.

Reason one: The owner is also the owner of the managment company. from all of the other complaints on here, obviously he does not see a proplem with his staff. This sounds extremely unprofessional. If I were you I would do some internet research about Landlord-Tenant Laws, and see if there is a way you can get out of your lease. There are so many other apartments out there with good owners, managment, and on site managers. GOOD LUCK!
