Me and my roommate moved in before it went under new management. I have lived in 10 apartment complexes in the Vancouver area. I know whats out there. What all of them have done was give me a great move in rate, and after a year, jack up the rent, and give people moving in a better rate. They have also all made a point to use their amenities to get people in, only to find out that they suck. Like a tanning bed that takes forever to get you tan. A hot tub that isn't clean or isn't that hot or the jets don't work half the time, or is closed for maintance. The pool that is open 2 months out of the year, the crappy exercise equipment, the fireplace not made to heat the apartment. Or the dryer that doesn't dry, or you hear every noise and the building shakes when someone walks up the stairs or shuts the door. There would be cars getting broken into or stolen. I would have to walk a LONG ways or park on the street cuz parking sucked. Places like this were close to 800 a month for a two bedroom two bath!! This is even when I make a point to be polite to the Complex staff.

If you are nice, reasonable and take the time to talk to them like a person, they will cut you some slack or take the time to work with you. I did this when I moved into Bridgecreek. During the lease signing is a good time to warm up to the office staff.

With Bridgcreek I got what I had paid for and I'm okay with that. I like that my apartment faces the wetland area, and not my nieghbors. I have my own set of stairs, I don't hear my nieghbors, there are no loud or wild parties every single night, it very quiet. The pool is huge, the hot tub is indoors, and clean. The tanning bed is hot, and I like the stereo they put in there. The locker rooms are nice. The exercise equipment is fine. There is a place to wash my car, and they plan on expanding the club house to put more stuff in it. The farthest I had to park was one or two buildings a way. I came in at 3am when everyone was in for the night. :)

When you inspect the place before move in make a note of everything! Before I move in anywhere I sand and put a gloss on all the wood work. Costs $5. We put in a maintance request to have the shower cleaned. I cleaned the kitchen too. I also spray paint the fire place black cuz its always gray when I move in. It costs 5 bucks. So when you move out they will see that the place is in better shape than when you moved insuring you get your deposit back and a good recomendation. The leasing agent is seeing this for the first time. They don't inspect it till you do. With your furniture and decorations its fine. Thats why the model ones look so good. It's the furniture and decor that makes it look good. If you are a good tenent they will lower your rent or do something to keep you from moving out.

When I put in a maintance request I give them a deadline and make sure that they can enter or call me to ask. I say, "I am sure they are busy. This or that can wait, till they can get to it, but this one thing needs to be done in the next couple of days because of......." I tell the guys thank you for coming and stay out of there way and let them work instead of hovering. I hate it when people hover so I don't do it to them. They also LOVE and note that I made the place look nicer and tell the front office this. When they get a work order from me and my roommate they remember we were nice to them and come over right away.

When new management came in and with our lease expiring the rent was going to go up. We called the front office and pointed out that we had paid our rent on time and they dropped the rent for us. We also got a new faucet and since the dishwasher wasn't working well we got a new one. Then the new siding, paint and they repaired the stairs. When I worked nights 2 nights a week I asked around if it would be possible that they not come to my building 2 days a week. They were fine with that. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned. I plan on staying here if the management is still reasonable when my lease expires. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax

Funny we live in the same place and I have been there for 3 years(way to long)Let's see where do I even start...If you want to wash you car now you cant because it's busted, they still DO NOT have a tanning bed...The "remodel",what a nightmare!!! When they painted our front door's red,we needed a crowbar to get in ,and had paint every where, when they were working on the outside they broke a few of my thing's and when I spoke the management, they told me to use my RENTERS INSURANCE!!! What a joke, they DON'T CARE about your things...Oh and did you know by law they were to offer you and I a new apt for the new jacked-up price!!! I worry about not only my safety, but my child's!!! Look if you like crack head's then it's your kind of place.....But if you have kid's or care about the stuff you work hard for.....Do not waste your time or hard earn money on this ---- hole!!!!
