I lived at the Carriage House and was very impressed with the community, the on-site management and my apartment. However, when I moved out and cleaned the apartment (to my eye very cleanly) the management (HSC, whoever that is) sent me an invoice saying that I owed $50 more dollars because my apartment had been dirty. (I had expected to get my entire deposit back.) There was no negotiating with them and it was like dealing with a slum bail bondsman. Incredibly unpleasant. I was told I could either pay the bill or it would be sent to collection immediately. My suggestion is to be sure you are in attendance with the person who checks your apartment when you move out.
