Help with Carriage House Lawsuit
From: rhyming1@yahoo.comDate posted: 1/23/2007
Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
Since moving from the Carriage House at the end of August 2006, I've received no contact regarding what I assumed would be a small bill.. Until today when I was informed by HSC, the apartment's parent company, that if I didn't pony up $1200 by tomorrow, I would be sued.
Their reason is that the written notice was turned in on the 11th, not the 10th of August. I turned it in on the 11th because I was unaware the date they receive the notice doesn't count towards the 21 days needed. The wording on the end-of-lease notice didn't give a date, and in essence was a little vague about the exact day. What I'm hoping is that someone who either lives at the Carriage House, or has left recently would still have a copy of that end-of-lease notice. In the move to my new place I lost mine, and I feel it's a critical piece if this lawsuit does indeed proceed to court.
If anyone could help me out, I'd very much appreciate an e-mail at rhyming1@yahoo.com.
Thanks!
