We lived at DP for 5 years, way too long. The only good point about this place was the very reasonable rent. Which was the only reason we stayed as long as we did. They just repainted everything and it's still ugly. The neighborhood is horrible. The office staff really doesn't like to help you and it shows. But they do process work oders in a timely manner. The walls are very thin so you hear everyone esle ALL the time. I DO NOT recommend this apartment complex.

I recently rented from Discovery Park Apartments and I can honestly say it was a HUGE MISTAKE to ever rent there. I moved in for the reasonable rate and quickly realised why the price was so sweet. If you can handle black mold in all the window ledges this is the place for you. No matter how many times you clean it...it comes back. I couldn't hardly breath just to clean it up. But they make you sign a paper upon moving in to make you responsible for it. Its unsafe for children to live in a room with all that mold. You have to clean it constantly. There is also allot of dry rot in the floors. My kitchen floor felt squishy in certain areas. The banks wouldn't loan them money for new siding so they painted it dirt brown, very ugly. But even the banks wouldn't take a chance on them. (does that tell ya something??) The walls are super thin, I could hear everything people said or talked about in the apartment below and next door to me. The management there is TERRIBLE. They recently got new owners and a new manager and she is extreemly rude and obviously there just for money. She showed a very HUGE lack of decency to me and many others who live there can't stand her. The neighborhood is terrible. The police are there almost nightly. They charge water sewage and garbage and your charged for maintenance usage as well. They screwed up on the billing cycle and charged everyone 2 months worth at one time. Once your lease is up they will jack your rent sooo high you have no choice then to move out. Everyone I know that lives there wants to leave and everyone I know that has left ended up screwed on the move out. They will over charge ya for normal wear and tear. One small stain on a counter and they will make you pay for a brand new counter to be put in...costing you hundreds. They want to upgrade the apartments at YOUR expense. (since the banks wont help them) BE WARNED!! The only thing you will discover at Discovery Park is what a rip off and nightmare it is. Pay the extra 25.00 to 50.00 and live in a different apartment complex anywhere else in Vancouver. It would be worth it. Trust me on that! I DO NOT and WILL NOT EVER recommend Discovery Park to anyone, not even my worst of enemies. Hopefully with this I will save others from making the same mistake I did. Good luck to ya.

I live a little down the road from DP in the only decent place on the street and that place is a like a 24/7 tweaker convention. I like that the cops keep people away from my nice place though. I know a lot of people who live there and they always tell me about the crime being insane.
