Before I decided to move here, I sat down with the manager and was very clear about what I wanted. I wanted the patio to be off the living room like the floor plan displays and my patio to lead to the grass since some patios lead to the parking lot. He assured me that was do-able and we set the move in date to the 15th of July. However, we recieved a call stating we can't move in until July 22nd due to them needing to do "extensive cleaning". Come move in day, my roomate and I had to wait an extra hour to sign our lease because the manager was with a door-to-door salesman about kitchen knives. We had people waiting to help us move and it was already 5 o'clock. Why we didn't see this red flag, I do not know!
When we were actually able to sign the lease, he said since the carpets were still wet, we would sign the lease first and then see the apartment. This was our first apartment and we stupidly agreed. When we got the key to our apartment, we were surprised to find the patio off the master bedroom and that it led to a muddy area with a dead tree and stone drop off. NOT the grass I was looking for. The apt was filthy with spider webs in the corners and the toilets were NOT cleaned. Even the manager who was "assisting" said it was disgusting. The blinds were covered with a thick film of dirt and the windows were moldy.
Needless to say, things did NOT get better. They go through managers like water and each of them tells you something different. The windows are constantly moldy it's a battle trying to keep them clean. Also, big puddles of water will form on the window sills and dry wall will actually begin to cave in because of it causing the paint to crack and chip off. Parking is horrible! I am stuck parking in a cul-de-sac like parking lot where it's a battle to get in and out. I have complained about a HUGE mud puddle that forms every time it rains and have been reassured it will be covered with mulch. However, when I questioned why it hadn't been done in the 9 months that I've lived here, they told me I CHOOSE to walk through it and I can purchase and lay my own stepping stones. This is the only path to my car unless I choose to walk in the middle of the road, not a very safe idea. I was warned about these apartments but moved in regardless. PLEASE LISTEN! These are not safe, healthy or friendly apartments!!!

i strongly disagree, the management i have dealt with have been nothing but responsive and couteous. They did not give me "the run around" when I inquired on the layout and floorplan of the apartment. There is no mold and or filth in anyway. I would reccomend these apartments to anyone. It is very peaceful at night and I great community.

The new manager Heather is decent. However, if you bothered to read the review, you will notice that I stated how often they were going through managers. It was a different person who assisted me as I moved in over a year ago. I'm happy you had a pleasant experience but that is not the case for the majority of the people who live here. I have talked to SEVERAL different tenants and there is nothing positive about Discovery. Peaceful nights? Great Community? On my last night there, some guy was flinging glass bottle off his porch. Kids will bang on your door and run off at 9:00 pm! Our downstairs neighbor had a lady on meth break into their apartment at 7 am (I know because I was woken by the cops and the yelling!) Don't attempt to fool people. This is NOT a good community!
