Disappointed

I recently moved out after over two years at Discovery Park. The main reason for moving was rent increase after rent increase. I also felt in that in my time there the overall safety, grounds and respect of residents decreased significantly. Today, I recieved my deposit back. I was astonished that I only recieved 17% of my total deposits. I am particulary angry because I requested and was told that management and maintenance would meet me at my apt for a final inspection and after cleaning for 4 hours and waiting for 2 more, I finally turned in my keys by the close of business so I would not be charged rent for not moving out on time. I left my apartment clean and the carpets were also professionally cleaned, yet I was still charged for "extract and enzyme" treatment of the carpets which were worn when I moved in.
So for those considering moving in to Discovery Park, be aware that you will not be recieving much if any of your deposits back. The management and maintenance folks were nice but not very good at following through with agreements and needs of renters. I would strongly suggest you to shop around before settling for this apartment complex.

I totally agree with you about not being safe there. My lock on the door was not very good and I had to put a chair under the front door to make it extra secure. There was also a shooting there in the middle of the night which I heard and saw police and the perimedics there. Management would not talk to me about what happened. However, I did get all my deposit back. I did spend two days cleaning it. That was before the new owners and the rent increase as I moved out just as the rent was being raised. When I was there it was affordable, now it's an over priced dump. I am glad that I moved out when I did.
