I have a 3 bedroom and i pay 1003.00 includeing water sewer garbage. The walls are so thin I can hear the upstairs neighbors arguing. The downstairs neighbors smoke inside there house and it comes up from there bedroom door right into our room. There a family of 6 living in a 2 bedroom downstairs that let there three under 7 year old children run a muck all hours. even 12 midnight in the courtyard. our building is in the back, so we are forgotten. the rules we were told would be inforced have yet to be. We came into these apartments being told one thing, including we would have a pool to swim in, and we are shown nothing but lack of supervision. The people who were supposed to be pool moniters were a joke. The man came in the pool with open soda cans, throwing kids in left and right, the lady acted more as a bossy ---- spending too much time telling people what the can and cant wear/do to even moniter. With as much money as this trashy place makes, you would think a little more time would go into keeping the residents here and happy.

The rent was very affordable, but then the new owners jacked up the rent. It's not worth it to pay high prices to live in a slum. The slum lords are making all the money and pay the staff minimum wage, so you will not get the best or even educated people to assist you. I feel sorry for the people who still live there. We moved out right before the rent was raised drastically. While my family lived at Discovery park, we only used the pool maybe two times as it was always closed down. I feel bad for the apartments next to the pool, it's very loud all hours of the day/night. I too was promised many things upon moving in. They don't show you the apartment you will be moving into until after the papers are signed. Be sure to write down any damage you see upon moving in or you will be responsible for the damage upon moving out. Smoking was a big issue with neighbors, smelling it when opening the window etc. Be sure to clean the windows as mold grows on there. It's pretty gross, luckly I am not allergic. People who are allergic to mold and it's spores should not move to Discovery Park. If you are homeless then this would be a good option, but not for a normal family. It's not safe and police are there all the time. Twice we had our cars vandalized and the management would not do anything about it nor did they care. Also, someone would park in my spot and so my husband parked on the street while home for lunch. A police officer marked his car to be towed away as if it were abandoned , the care was still warm from driving. If you have something serious to complain to the staff, they just roll their eyes at you and also will never return your phone calls. They just want to collect their paychecks and get through the work day. I think they must hire people from the streets to work there, or maybe people coming off welfare or out of rehab. One good thing I can say is my apartment was on the top floor so the noise was not as bad. The rent at the time I lived there was affordable. Also, don't miss Friday/Saturday nights, be sure to open your windows for the Mexican fiesta in the parking lot, that is always fun. A word of advice, don't walk around at night in the complex as the Pimps are driving around looking for their employees. Who knows maybe the pimps employees are the Discovery Park staff?
