I have lived here for 13 months and am about to move from my one bedroom to a two bedroom. I have had little to no problems. I have lived in five apartments in Connecticut, New York, Texas and Washington. I will tell you that living here is not half bad considering what you could get. To all you people complaining, what do you expect for the price range' the neighborhood not great, but there arent any drug dealers and walking at night is safe. I noticed that most of you complaining about your security deposit are complaining about carpet cleaning and painting. It clearly states in the lease that upon move out YOU are responsible to have a professional clean the carpet w/ a truck mounted machine. If you dont you get charged for that service. It also states that repainting is done on a prorated basis. In addition, what house in the great NW doesn't have mold around the windows in the winter' Clean it, any place you live you've got to clean the windows once amonth or so. I will let you know more once I move to my new place if they give me my security back....

I moved to my two bedroom and was charged fairly upon move out from my one bedroom (cleaning which I chose to be chanrged for per lease). I could have done without the painting charge, but its stated in the lease and it was only $100. Got a good deal on transferring also.

The concerns people express are valid. Good you were able to move and feel good about it. If you check Police Records, thefts and breakins are number 2 in the Vancouver Area, #1 being Downtown. The contract makes several statements all about what we are responsible for, and nothing about their own responsibilities. They also charge for water, pool, garbage/trash, initial deposit, fee if argue with their fees, billing fee, and more.. Yes, read your contract, there are many more fees there than you are writing about, and many more concerns.

wgere does the Security deposit and all the pet deposit fees go ? Why don't they use all those fees to clean the carpets and paint the walls if needed? I thought that was the point of those fees.
