When I discovered these apartments I was mostly just looking for a resonably safe and cheap place to live that would let us keep our dog. I thought I found it. First of all the security doors are always broken or proped open. Pretty much anyone can get in if they go thru the office or lobby since there are unlocked doors to both sides of the building in the couch/office area. But I am getting ahead of myself. when i went in, the rent price that was in the ad was not what I was offered at the table, but it was not too much more so I went along. Then they said that they have a Hotel style hot water system which you pretty much have to pay for or you can;t get hot water at all. It wasn;t expensive, $10 a month but still it brought what I thought was going to be $429, which turned into $479,then add $10 and AND then if you want a parking spot it is $15 a month so what is the total at now' $504. This was still ok because I thought what I was getting was a one bedroom. Turns out the one bedroom was a studio that they TURNED INTO a "one bedroom" by putting up two walls to block it somewhat from the rest of the tiny room. The walls don't go to the ceiling and there are no real doors to the bedroom just shutter style doors with the slats in them. NO PRIVACY if you have anyone over. The kitchen was outdated and the sink leaked. I realise that $504 isn;t a huge amount to pay for an apartment and they let us have our dog but it is NOT worth the risks that come along with it. My car was broken into on 10/18 and over 100 cds and my wallet were stolen. Come down to the neigborhood at night and see how comfortable you feel, try walking a dog after dark and see if you feel safe, then decide if you want to rent here. Since living here and the power surges that occur in the building, we have lost a dvd player, a vaccum, and our computer blew it's power supply. So if you plan on living her I would buy a lot of power surge protecters and not leave anything important plugged in too long. I was trapped in a 6 month lease because if we had wanted to pay by the month it would have been another $10 a month which we couldn't really afford at the ---e being college students (and because this was the only place in our price range that would let us keep our pet) we signed away our lives and our paychecks for 6 months. Thank god my lease is up at the end of November and we can GET OUT OF HERE!!! It is worth the extra money to be somewhere else. Don't let them seduce you with their illusion of safety.

I know I am giving a 2 on staff but this is not an attack on ------- who is the manger. She was very polite and very sweet, very cooperative, and very understanding; However, the other lady who works in the office incorectly charged us for a pet fee we had already paid and was very rude when I corrected her and has been rude ever since.

Its now 2006 and in response to this review, I have live here 1 year, you are right about the advertizing of one price and charging you another. The ad was for 479mo no where in the ad did it say you paid extra for hot water, which is now 12mo, plus they tried to tell me that the ad was old and the rent had gone up $10. I show them the date printed on the ad and it was within the last week. The agreed to the 479, but then added the water and it is now 491mo. They entry system appears to now be working, but as the prev resident had stated, the doors are always propped open and anyone can enter thru the club house/commons area. The hot water in the morning is always out. And during the day/evening, it is running too hot and warping my plastic food storage containers. My sink is okay, but the bathroom has given me the most grief, the celing has had to be replace and recently started getting moist again from an aparent leak upstairs. I have had issues with my phone lines not working, when i told the staff, they said I could pay to get them fixed, they would only pay to fix 1 even though all 3 were working when I moved in. I have had insect infestations and had to get them treated. I agree ------- is very nice, but i also agree that the other lady is looking for every possible dollar that I might not notice getting charged. My lease is up in 6mo and I will be moving due to the increase in rent again. From what I understand it will go upto at least 519mo. The hallway always reeks of urine most likely from people not watching their dogs. The carport is upto $30mo now and it was advertized they have an indoor pool. The pool even though it is indoor, it is seasonal only and only open from May to September. They have now installed a tanning room that they charge to use. When it rains, the parking lot floods because it is on a flood plain and there is no where for the water to go, If you pay for a carport, they will locate other parking on high ground, but if not, you are stuck wading to your vehicle. The area has not improved, and although when I first moved in, it appeared they didn't allow certain breeds, I am now seeing pitbulls as I go thru the hallways. Also I was initially told satelights were allowed, but now they say people need to start removing them. They have internet access in the clubhouse, but although you are only able to spend a short ---e in there they want you to pay as much as you would for internet for in your own appartment, they scold the residents children who go in to the clubhouse to play board games or put togeather puzzles that are set out for the residents, where are these children to go, there is no place for them? I have also been told by other residents that the dryers are turned down so they take longer to dry your clothing and cost you more money. I spend at least $10 every ---e I do my weekly laundry. I have also had problems w/ trying to vaccum and operate the air conditioner. The apartment's wiring is outdated and can't handle the stress. I blow a fuse every---e i vaccum if i dont have everything else turned off. I have also noticed that when it rains, the floor along the wall gets moist and very cold, the water just flows up to the building. I can go to Cougar Creek and pay $455mo for more space and reliable hotwater because everyone at cougar creek has their own hotwater heater.

I want to rate the abuse that goes on in the said complex. Landlords and the money scams done to the tenants The perverted men stalking single, pretty tenants, landlord sides with the perverted, Landlord is a liar when it comes to keeping SO/deposits, charging for light bulbs, to tan in tanning bed, use complex computer in day room and use printer and printer paper. Charges for anything that will line the deep pockets of these landlords. Landlord puts notes constantly on tenants doors, falsely accusing incant tenants of some act, without proof of cameras, her proof is the fat, ugly, sad people that have no life, but to cause the well establish people pure trouble!!!!!! Other words; run you off so they can steal the security deposit..... Landlords repeats, behind close door personal conversation,to the old hags residing there, to the courts, to the city of Vancouver, WA. Your business is out there being abused! Landlords are out for , are trouble makers, embrace hostel environment Ole tenants, a ---- & --- (------- and ----) are pure stirrers, trouble makers, where I have been present when the both told the landlord that a long ---e tenant (who is cute, tiny.... by the way~) said tenant~ is a . NOT TRUE!!!!!!
