This place is awful, but if you need cheap and now, what can you do' After getting sold on leasing a 1 bedroom by being shown a 2 bedroom and told it was "just like it but without the 2nd, larger bedroom" (a COMPLETE lie, the 1 bedrooms are so tiny it's crazy) I moved into a HOLE where I spent 2 days doing basic maintenance & repairs (both needed for functionality AND cosmetic to make the place half-way liveable) while waiting for new carpet because the old carpet was so animal and smoke stained I almost bafed walking into the place initially.

The mold and mildew issue here is phenomenally bad. If you're allergic, stay away, and if you're not invest in a de-humidifier. I love their pet policy, but I have an indoors cat that ALWAYS has fleas, which means there are infestations in and around the property somehow being brought in. I could have rented a 2 bedroom in Fisher's Landing for what I've spent in flea bombs and treatments.

The Management here is hit or miss, there are more good days and bad, and maintenance issues are generally handled pretty promptly which is nice (albeit by 15 year old zooming around their parking lot in golf carts, but whatever.) The grounds aren't bad at all, although their basketball court has a dangerous chunk missing.

The kid situation here is a nightmare if you're single (like me.) Toys and bikes EVERYWHERE, and I'd be an idiot to go any faster than 1 mph in the parking lot. But if you have kids, this is a huge plus, because they all play together.

The police are here quite a bit, and I get offered drugs from neighbors or associates of neigbors AT LEAST once a week. THIS SUCKS! Put down the bottles and the pipes, y'all, and take care of your dang kids, ok' I'm sick of your baby's daddy offering me weed and/or meth. Gross.

Any way, bottom line is that this is basically ghetto living for as ghetto as Vancouver can get. Having lived in both Los Angeles County (the parts you hear about in the news) and little Mexico in Colorado, I can say you're not in as much danger as you could be. But that doesn't make it right.

If you're broke but not too broke to rent, you don't have many options. But if you have another one besides Gardenview, TAKE IT.

The first day I lived in this apartment complex, I was shot at with an arrow. Turning around, I saw a kid with a bow laughing at me from his deck. A week later, my car was broken into. Needless to say, I moved out soon after.
