London Flats

I lived there for 2.5 years only because i couldn't afford all the fees to move to a new place. Noise is a huge factor. People having parties, standing in the parking lot until 1-2 in the morning talking loud, cars with loud exhaust and playing loud music in the parking lot. I can hear my neighbors TVs and music. When I complained nothing was done. Managements solution was for me to take care of it myself because she got into a small altercation with my neighbor the day before & she didn't want him to think she was retaliating. Maintenance is a total joke. My heater broke within the first 6 months I moved in. It would work for a few hours and then it would turn on and not shut off. So when I would come home from work my place would be 90 degrees. I put in 3 separate work orders and it never got fixed. They kept telling me I was making it up and that it worked fine. On the 3rd time, Leslie told me to just stop using the wall heat and to use the gas fireplace to heat my place. So I did and it left black marks on the walls & ceiling. When I moved out she accused me of burning candles and that was the cause of the back soot. When I told her I only used the clean burning soy candles (generates no soot) and I had only used them a hand full of time in almost 2.5 years and therefore it would not generate soot, she told me too bad and took my $200 deposit. Not only that, the day I did my walk through, I scheduled an appointment with her for 11:30 and confirmed the day before and she wasn't even there!!! She came back at 12:30 and didn't even apologize. Just said I was at lunch. I was mad and said she should have let me know because we needed to get on the road before noon, otherwise we would be stuck in traffic and it would add several hours to our drive. But she just looked at me and told me she would meet me up at my apartment and then kept me waiting another 10 minutes!!!

Sugar ants were another problem. I went down to put in a work order because suddenly I had sugar ants all over my base boards in the kitchen. Leslie in so many words told me I was making it up because I so far was the only one that had complained. Finally she told me she would have someone come in and take care of it. When I asked what she was going to do, they said they were going to spray raid all over my kitchen. I told that they needed to find an alternative, even if it meant spraying it outside instead of inside or finding the source because 1) I eat in the kitchen and don't want Raid in my food 2) I have 2 cats and 3) I don't use chemicals to clean in my household. She just laughed at me and told me spraying raid was the only thing they would do, otherwise it was my problem. So I ended up taking care of it myself with some vinegar/water solution and gloves over 2 weeks.

This is only a few of my many problems I had living there. The apartments are wonder and spacious. I really did enjoy living in my apartment and my neighbors were wonderful (even the one playing the loud music once I talked to him). I think living there would have been made better if there was a better manager who took the time to deal with the problems brought to her by her tenants. I know i wasn't the only one who complained about the noise, heating, ants, etc. I had talked to some of my neighbors & eventually we all got frustrated and took care of things ourselves.
