construction hell

My girlfriend and I were the first residents to move into London Flats. We've been there 6 months now and overall it's been a fairly horrid experience. It's a cool apartment, hadrwood floor in the bath and kitchen, vaulted ceiling, and an electric fireplace. Our dishwasher has broken twice, the doors are poorly installed on the cabinets, I even had to have maintnence put a ladder up to the window so I could get into the apartment after the lock on the front door broke. The walls in general are very thin, and the layout is somewhat rediculous, with two garages beneath our flat, the noise is awful. All this would be somewhat bearable if it weren't for the constant construction going on, a sound like tractors mating every morning. The main entrance to the complex is closed half the time, parking is poorly designed and completely unregulated. Definately has not been worth the cost.

You should have considered the consturction when you moved there, since you were the first you would have and should have noticed that over half this complex was still under construction.

I was one of the first tenants to move in there as well and building additional apartments is one thing, no one could have foreseen the road being torn up for the past 4 months! I agree that it is ridiculous. The noise every morning and it's like driving on the moon every time I go home or try to go anywhere. I don't mind the parking,. Old management was great. I really liked Lisa and the girls, but I'm not real happy with the new management. I don't find her very nice or pleasant and the new rules are a little much. How about we fix the nnoise situation first (and I'm not talking about the construction). Noisy neighbors at night with their cars bumping music and neighbors playing music and having parties late into the night. I have made complaints and seen little improvement.

I just moved in with my husband a few months ago, right in the process of new management coming in. So, it was a little hectic, but after a few weeks, it's been nicer. You have to realize that if you're moving into a place that's still under constuction, it's obviously going to be noisy.and it's an apartment complex, not a house, obviously you're going to have noise around you. I for one am VERY happy that we are getting more rules, If you don't like it, instead of complaining about it, just move out and into a house, and stop complaining!!!!!
