Nothing But Problematic

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2006
May family has lived here for 6 years for one reason only: They are the cheapest apartments in Vancouver for what we need. Period. We have moved from apartment to aparmtment within this same complex hoping to get something new and different, only to be faced with the same old problems again and again. However after 6 years, we are unable to take the constant problems experienced here. We, like most of the reviews here I have read, have had constant mold problems (in both upstairs and downstairs apartments). Although we were told by management to just "open the windows and let air ventitlate", that did no solve the problem. It actually got worse and it caused serious health problems for my two little girls. When someone finally did come in to "fix" the mold problem, all they did was paint over it. We have had our cars broken into; We have had our car towed after leaving it in the same spot for 3 days while we were on vacation (it was left in a normal parking spot, not a tow away zone), but was told by managment they could do nothing when a car double parked behind me and blocked me in and I could not get to work one day; we always hear our neighbors (again in both upstairs and downstairs aparmtments)and their kids; I swear the whole ceiling bows when we see our neighbors walk across the room; we have had them in constantly to fix the caulking on the fixtures in the bathroom, because the caulking they use is so cheap that the hot water dissolves it instantly; Everytime we have renewed our lease, our rent has gone up anywhere from $15 to 50$,no matter how long we sign a lease for; On one apartment we were charged $1100 for replacing the entire carpet because of one kool-aid stain they claim they could not get out and although I fought them on it for a long time, I lost; They let naked babies swim in the common pool area (which supposedly is against the rules, but they will not do anything about it if you report it); Our neighbors were constantly dumping cigarettes and ashes on our porch and when we reported it, we were told there was nothing they could do - However the same neighbors complained about the "smell" of our garbage can on our porch, (which we had to start using since the nearest receptacle is now more than a half a mile a way) and we were fined $50 for having a garbage can out in the open after we got prior approval from them that it was OK; We also just found out that we are now being charged a monthly $10 fee for garbage service - I would like to know WHAT garbage service'' As I stated earlier there is ONE receptacle for the ENTIRE 300 unit complex and it is over a half a mile away for us, we have to haul it, it is not done for us. Half the time it is over flowing and falling onto the gorund and is very unsitely;
Although I hate complaining, and I have tried sticking it out with this place, I'm afraid I will have to call it quits and part ways. I hate the fact that rent has gotten so steep that I will now have to pay over $800 for a nice 2 bedroom apartment elsewhere but c'est la vie.
