Never again!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
I moved in with a friend of mine in August 2005 because her old roommate moved out. I wasn't even there a full 3 months and went through more crap than any where else I've EVER lived.
Lets start with the parking..there is none unless you're a brokeass on welfare and have 4 cars that don't work, then there is tons because it's all yours. For some of the rest of us who actually work for a living, I know it's a huge concept for most people in this area, there is no parking.
Then there are all the dirty little disease carring ghetto children who never go to school. All these kids do is stand in front of moving cars, scream at eachother, run up and down the stairs in the apartments until their ghetto, food stamp collecting parents get up from the couch, put the joint down and scream at the kids to shut up. What rolemodels!
Then there are the parents, trust me I use the term very loosly. These are some of the worst people on the damn planet. They can't take care of themselves let alone all the kids they have. They don't work, or understand the concept that other people do.
The actual apartment was sick. It just felt dirty no matter how hard you scrubed. The shower was COVERED in mold and smelled so foul. The carpet is 20 years old, brown and has "mystery stains"
Safety was another issue. Parking lots are very poorly lit. My apartment was broken into at 3am WITH ME IN IT!! Neighbors would try to walk in until I put 2x4's in the windows and sliding door. Then the meth heads with the newborn upstairs were arrested then it wasn't as bad.
I really hope you aren't looking for any kind of privacy. You can hear very simple conversations going on in other apartments with ease. When they start yelling, which they do all the time, it's like you are standing right next to them. It makes evesdropping a lot easier but sleeping very difficult.
I have lived in some brokeass places, having gone to college in a very small college town in Eastern Washington. But this, was by far the worst place I have ever lived!
I found the management staff alright. Until I found out that even though my old roommate had a past due balance of almost $3,000 from BEFORE I moved in and signed the lease, nevermind they never told me about this balance, I am no financailly responsible for it if she does not pay it off! I had no idea there was even a balance and am horrified I was not informed and that they are holding me responsible for the money.
I would rather live in my car than live at Parklane.
Plus, they've raised the rates! $600 to live a mold infested -------- is NOT a good deal.
