If you're thinking about moving here. For the love of whatever DON'T

I have lived in this apartment complex for three years now and I will tell you that it has it's ups and downs but in the end it's all downs. When we first moved in it seemed like a pretty decent place, the apartment was fair sized and a good deal for the $650 we were paying in rent at the time. We didn't have any real problems with our neighbors or anything. However shortly after we moved in it was discovered that our washing machine was broken and leaked water all over, I called maintenance and someone came to look at it the next day, tightened the hose and pronounced it OK. The next time I did a load of laundry, the same thing happened. So, I called them again and they said that the washer was /broken/ this time and that they would have to order a new one and that it would likely take about a week. Well, OK, I guess I can wash my laundry elsewhere for a week.

during the first week we were waiting for our new washer, it was also discovered that our dishwasher didn't work, so I called Maintenance again and they came and flipped the bottom dish holding shelf and told me it was fine. I tried it again and found it didn't work, the reason' NO WATER it's hard to clean dishes without water. So, we had to hand wash all our dishes while I waited for maintenance to come and fix the dishwasher and bring us a working washing machine.

It was a MONTH before they brought us the new washing machine, despite me calling every week to inquire about it and being told it wouldn't be much longer. The last time I called they seemed surprised and it was the head of maintenance who finally came in with a new dishwasher and hooked the water up to our washing machine.

That was my first month of living in this apartment.

They repaved the parking lot one summer around fourth of July, leaving nowhere for anyone to park but on the street or elsewhere for about a week. To be fair we did get some small amount of notice about this, but it was still extremly difficult to deal with.

The rent has gone up since we first moved in by a staggering $65 dollars and I frankly have to wonder what we're paying for.

We have had the police in here a great many times for various reasons and my next door neighbors car as well as my own car have been broken into and had things stolen from them. Someone stole our laptop and our emergency roadside assistance kit. We have also had things stolen from our deck, which has a very high wall in front of it.

One of our neighbors had the wheels and tires stolen off his car and his house broken into.

This is not a safe place, unless you get the maintenance head you wont get anything fixed.

The only good I can say for it is that the landscaping looks nicer and the playground got a nice new look. Problem is the playground is right next to the trash compactor and the kids around here don't seem to have any parental guidance most of the time.
