My family has lived here for a year and when our lease is up we are gone. We moved in with the promise of two pools and a hot tub that would be opening soon.Within 2 days of us moving here the first pool was closed down. The second one opened for the season and then shut down every other week or so and finally shut down for good at the end of July or beginning of August. The Hot Tub NEVER opened once in the year I was here. Eventually the hot tub and pool were filled in to make a spray ground which is a glorified yard sprinkler.
I have had the water main on my building rupture 4 times in the year I was here and received no notice of how long it would be to fix it or that it was even shut off. Twice I had the water turned off when I was showering and once I had an entire load of clothes in the washer that had to sit in water for 4 days while they fixed the water. When the water shut off with me inthe shower they told me to go to the office and get buckets of water to finish rinsing my hair with. Yeah, I'm going to run to the office with shampoo dripping inmy eyes and use buckets of water to bathe with.
I don't have any complaints with the managment staff. They aren't the friendliest people but I don't see they much so it works out alright. The remodel was nice but they spent maybe 6 days remodling the appartment and 6 months remodling the office. If they used half of the luxury in the appartments that they used on that office, this place would be fantastic. Maintanence takes a while to fix things that aren't emergencies. Sometimes within a few days but usually a week or so.
All of the fixtures in my unit look like they were installed by a 3 year old. They are crooked and broken and the baseboards are secured by one nail at each end and come off often. I have never seen the mold other tennants have complained about so I can not speak of that. I have not seen animals running around either. The kids on the other hand are another issue. In the summer when it is hot you open your windows only to be assulted with rude, nasty, comments from teenagers. I grew up with a sailor for a father and the stuff coming out of these kids mouths made me blush.
The noise level inside the appartment is a little higher than I have noticed in other apartments I have lived in but it isn't unmanagable if you talk to your neighbors. However any conversations or anything else that take place in the foyers can be heard by anyone living in the building. I can hear every word anyone says while they are on the stairs. That gets quite annoying especially if they think they have privacy and hold private convesations. This isn't the greatest place I have lived in by far but if it is what you have to do to get by than you do it. I just know that I am not doing it anymore.

Everything you had to say is sooo true I cant even believe it. I felt like you read my mind. But As far as maintnance they take for ever weeks months never more like it. And the noise lvl if u r on the top floor is ok unless your neighbor fights and slams doors all the time then its a joke. And the bottom floor sounds like ur living in a zoo. The new water park is slippery to walk on my nephew and another kid slipped so bad they almost busted there heads wide open, Brain injuries are nothing to mess with and they better fix it befor they have a law suit on there hands...the pool issue was the same for me nothing got to swim once or twice, and there office is like better homes and gardens compared to ours there are so many things that need to be address like my fan in my bedroom bathroom sounds like a speed boat its so loud i can feel the vibration it gives off, the fan down stairs the motor is out it humms and doesnt work then it goes on they have yet to fix that in months of complaining, the mold under my sink you know how they fixed that by covering up with a new one,,, in other words they covered up a bad problem come to find out for the yr i was living here my sink was leaking they finally fixed that after a year, and the amount of the units 895 for 3 bedroom for a low income family is insane they were saying how they were going to raise it and that they decided not to how can we afford to live in an expensive place if you can only be on limited income to live here it makes noo sence. and the big wammy you have to have a Portible AIR CONDITIONER no window ones, how irritating when i just bought a new one last yr and used it for like a month and now i have to get a new one what a joke. i understand they just put new windows in but why cant we pay like a deposit for the window to use our air conditioners????? COME ON!!! Another thing for one yr i complained of my fridge not working to keep it cold it rattled and would shut off and defrost and refreeze they told me it seems to be working fine so if we call someone to check it and they see its working you have to pay the bill of 100 dollars, well i couldnt so i went on and off with them for a yr and finally he said ok we will pay for them to look at it he acted like he knew what he was doing when he check my fan in my fridge and he didnt so the teck came and looked from the repair place and said oh your fam is broken it took him all of 1 sec to see it and he ordered the part for my fridge and now its like new but the heartache i had to go through just to get it fixed was a joke...if u have any sence don't be fooled by the large size of the apartments cause you will be in for a nightmare trying to get little things fixed...

They did raise the rent. It is now $925 for the three bedrooms which I am in. I just sat down with Kim to go over the price increase a week ago or so. I only signed a 6 month lease when I moved in and I had to renew it and got the bomb dropped on me. She said it is to help pay for all of the upgrades to the appartments but the upgrades were paid for by that HUGE grant that they got from the government for being section 42 housing or whatever it is now. I didn't know they had banned AC's in general. I knew that in the 3 bedroom you could only put it in the 2 bedrooms upstairs facing the back because they can't go on the front and the only downstairs window on the back has the door to the storage shed butted up against it. I installed an AC there myself, and then I couldn't open my storage shed. The shower door only opens a foot or so in my bathroom so I have to squeeze into the shower in the master bedroom. I have called them at least 10 times in 6 months. They sent someone out once who looked at it and said it needed a new door and then I got a bill for the new door. Almost $400. I don't think so. It will stay that way. It never opened all of the way. I called them the day after I moved in when I went to take a shower and they said I did it and sent me the bill. If it wasn't for the fact that I can not afford to come up with a deposit and rent somewhere else plus the cleaning fees here, I would have moved but this is the best I can do right now and still be within a resonable distance to my work.

Wow. It sounds like they really don't like to fix things. That's lame. It's totally illegal for them not to fix things, properly, and to charge the tenants for the things needed fixed.

OMG, This place is insane! Do not move here, it has gone to h3ll! The mold is horrible, and they expect u to just deal with it..I am a clean freak and even I can not keep up with it. When we moved in here we were allowed to install an AC in the back window of our apt. We were here for a year, signed another lease and were told that if we wanted AC they had to install it and I would have to pay 100 bucks, I had already invested the money and got the proper material when i did it myself, now i have to pay again, not! It used to be nice here, quiet, clean..but now they are filling the apts with anything. The teens here are constantly asking for cigarettes, if u don't give it to them, which i won't they cuss at you and act like they want to kill u. I watch them outside of my kitchen window, they go around picking up cigarette butts..disgusting! These teens are no older then 13! The trash that they let in here is horrible, they litter the grounds and pile their unwanted furniture in front of the dumpsters. Speaking of dumpsters, they are always full and over flowing, what is with that. How about the new meters they installed, I am now paying almost 30 bucks more a month, I have lived in house's and never paid in 2 months what i pay here for water/garbage/sewer! then if u are late they charge u 50 bucks! Even the water co. only charges about 6 bucks for late fee's. The apartments are getting filthy on the outside, and if u do not watch your step you end up stepping in dog crap, I have dogs, I clean up after them, but most of the people around my unit do not! They have HUGE dogs, and well, i have thrown a few pairs of shoe's away in the last year. I have to clean it up at least once a week from the entrance to my door. They used to clean the common areas at least once a month, now we are lucky if it is once every two or three months. This place is turning into the slums, which is sad as they invested in the remodel just recently. Do not move in here, you will wish u didn't. I only have a few months left on my lease, then i am out, counting the days!!
