WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE
From: amtcts@yahoo.comDate posted: 1/13/2009
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I signed a year lease at Running Springs which is now Villages on Madison. I enjoyed the scenery in the FRONT and FRONT ONLY of the complex, and never really took the time to check out the rest of the complex until after I moved in. For one, the complex was built in the seventies, and everything I had in my apartment was installed AT LEASE before the 90's. The plumbing never worked, and I had to make a call to the "maintenance" people once a month. The maintenance guys were very inapproriate with my roommate and used to walk into the apartment for no reason just to say hello. Second, the windows are ALL broken (patio door, living room windows, bedroom windows), and that is not a good thing in that neighborhood. My car was broken into two days after my father passed away as I was sleeping. My keys to my second car were stolen which costed me $200, electronics, very important documents.. all stolen by a criminal rummaging around the complex. I constantly felt as if I was going to be mugged. About a half year after I moved in, I was informed that another tennant informed the property there was a bedbug infestation. I almost died, but hey, what could I do. It was MANDATORY in a letter I got from the office saying that the carpet had to be ripped up and sprayed, and that I couldn't go home for twelve hours. THEY NEVER CAME BACK TO PUT THE CARPET DOWN. It was very embarrassing to have people visit after that. Also, when I moved in, there was a mirror nailed to the outside of my bedroom door. After a month or so, I was curious as to why there was a mirror on one bedroom door and not the other. I took the mirror off, and there were numerous holes the size of a softball underneath the mirror (just on the outside so you couldn't see them from inside the bedroom). Now that I am finally gone, I was charged an extra month's rent because I didn't give a "30-day move-out notice" which I never got any information that I had to do so at any point. They are charging me for the door with the holes, the CARPET (which wasn't new when I moved in, AND I shampooed the carpet a week before I moved out), broken window blinds, a take-out trash fee of $25 (for one Kroger bag of trash I forgot in the living room), A FEE FOR WIPING OLD WATER OFF OF THE TUB, among others. It seems to me that this place can't afford to have anything, so they sue whoever they can for whatever they can. The landlord is a total B***H who talked to me like a piece of you-know-what, and told me that it must have been someone in my family when I told her my car was broken into.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT OR TOWNHOME FROM THIS PLACE.
IT IS NOW CALLED VILLAGES ON MADISON.
It is a dump!
