Good in The Beginning, Got Worse and Worse...

When I first moved here in May of 2007, it was a really nice place with reasonable rent and generally friendly and helpful management. I lived for a good while with no problems. However, my lower level unit began leaking water through the window seam because of the poor upper deck design. I was sick often and couldn't figure out what was going on. After a month I checked above my blinds by removing them and found it was completely black with mold. I was then diagnosed with a mold related lung infection. Even though this was bad, they promptly moved me into a different unit and took care of all costs. Everything was going well after this for about a year, and then the management changed as well as most of the maintenance staff.
At first there was nothing different, but the property started to look worse and worse. They maintenance crew was doing very little, and it doesn't help that the units are full of kids with no parental supervision. A few times a saw an infant crawling in the street with no adults around, and I called 911 both times. However, I can't blame the apartment management for this.
My wife and I decided to upgrade to a 2 bedroom townhouse. When we moved in all the appliances were trashed, the linoleum needed to be replaced as well as the majority of the carpet. I brought this to the attention of the management many times, and they did nothing at all. A month into our lease, we decided to move immediately when our lease expired.
About a month before our lease expired, a friend of mine came to meet me at our apartment. After he got out of his car, the manager approached him and asked him where he was going. He told her that he was headed to see me, and she then approached me, as I was standing outside. She told me that he was going to fast, and as I tried to resolve the issue, she started yelling at me in front of other tenants as they passed. I tried to get in my car to leave when one of the employees stood behind my car to prevent me from going, yelling all the while. This continued until I told them I was going to call the police if they didn't let me leave.
Needless to say, we put in our notice immediately and will not be living at any of the properties owned by this company. Overall, the management is poor and more willing to argue than resolve issues. The units are slowly falling apart due to the poor construction and materials. Trust me, you can find better places to live within a 3 to 5 mile radius.

Personally, it sounds like you are letting the issue with the townhome affect the way you are looking at the conflict with the speeder. Yeah they could have dealt with it a little bit better, but put yourself in their shoes. It is probably a good thing you are moving, but don't you think it is a little extreme and unfair to say you will never rent from the entire COMPANY after having the majority of your experience with them be a good one?
