CANNOT WAIT until my lease is up!

I am currently a resident of Springfield Meadows and none of what I am about to write is an exaggeration.

From the outside...this place looks like a dream for those with low income, just starting out or re-building as I am myself.

RENT:
My rent was raised $60.00 after a year and by hearing from the other residents and a certain staff member, I got it very easy compared to the majority which is between $80.00-$100.00 on the average.

UTILITIES:
Cable is monopolized! Comcast has outside deals that you CANNOT take advantage of, instead, you HAVE to go through management to get cable which prices are almost triple than that of Comcast. I refuse to pay that much so I haven't watched TV in my home for over a year now.

CRIME/SAFETY and VIOLENCE:
Police are on site EVERY OTHER DAY at ALL HOURS due to domestic issues, fights and neighborhood complaints.

Children, teens AND adults are constantly screaming and cursing with numerous reports from neighbors to management with no resolve. I do not let my child play with any of the kids here because most parents do not watch or care which has resulted in very bad habits, rotten mouths and etiquette. Have watched and repremanded pre-teens ABUSING and BEATING on thier PETS for enjoyment.

PARKING:
Parking/Lot is a NIGHTMARE! I had bought a brand new car when moving in. Since, I have countless nicks and scratches from other cars, children riding their bicycles and running handles across my doors. Tires have been slashed, people have spit on and egged cars. Myself, my EX-upstairs neighbor and boyfriend have all had property stolen from their vehicles.

Family came to visit from out of town and parked in VISITOR parking and got towed because staff member (that has now since moved on) said it was a RESIDENT parking. Resulted in a battle of he said/she said and guess who won. $250.00 for a 12 hour visit to the yard because management can't READ! Needless to say - IRATE!!!!!

IF YOU THINK ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES WILL MAKE UP FOR IT' GUESS AGAIN!

WHEN the pool/spa is up and running it is not regulated. People do not rinse before entering. I've seen parents BATHE their 2 years olds WITH DIAPERS on in the spa! The hottest days of the year the pool is normally closed due to poor maintence of chemicals to maintain PH and chlorine.

I have NEVER seen a dirtier film in an apartment spa in my life! MANAGER has even admitted on numerous occasions that she will not use the pool or spa due to public use and cleanliness.

Theater was not in use for 3-4 months when first moving in and staff did not know when it would be back up.

No complaints about Tanning, Gym, Business center or inside court.

MANAGEMENT:
Current manager is very unprofessional compared to rest of staff. Have heard her violate privacy policy concerning other residents' medical issues which is no one's business besides her's and the resident themselves. Which in turn does not make me feel as if I can speak in confidence if I have an issue.

As far as other staff members including maintenence staff...I've always had pleasant experiences with them and have no complaints. Ground crew is very hard working and I feel bad for them that they have to pick up after filthy resident's.

FINAL CONCLUSION:
I CANNOT WAIT until my lease is up (to bypass the move-out penalty of $755.00) so that I can move! I am dreading to see what I will get back from my deposits - I haven't heard one good story on that subject YET! I can't wait to see what they charge my apartment as I am a former house cleaner! Look for an update April 2009!

Please, for your own sake (unless you thrive on commotion, stepping in dog feces) find somewhere else! I wish I would have picked one of the other two on my list.

Dog feces are everywhere first responder! Do you work here or what?? Your response is a little suspicious. No one cleans up after their pets. Isn't their a fine for that?? It's disgusting!!!!!!! The kids here are hellions. Four year olds run around unattended, scratching, riding bikes through and running in front of cars! Don't ever purchase a nice car while living here!! And yes they do raise your rent and everything is usally not working in the office! (Tanning bed, workout equip, theater for months, pool and spa). If anyone is considering this place, pick another!

It's sad that your experience here is so awful! I do have to agree on the noise level and some other points you have made but I've got to say that I've been here for almost 2 years and have NEVER seen ANYONE bathe their children in the hot tub and I have personally seen the manager in the pool with her daughter. I know her personally and she is amazing! I don't know where you get "unprofessional" unless she's off the clock and doesn't need to worry about the concerns of her job. Which EVER human on the face of the planet does when they are off work! And unless you have some sort of odd medical issue then I see no reason for you to feel like you cannot speak to her on a personal level. And on that same note, you shouldn't be telling someone something so personal that it would devastate you if it were told to someone else anyways. Those kinds of things are meant to be kept to yourself. And I have NEVER seen dog poo on the ground and I walk quite often with my 10 month old. I do agree about not letting your children play with the other kids around here, I wouldn't and haven't on many occasions but that is not the apartments, that is just the parent's. You have to remember that these are LOW-INCOME apartments. That means that a lot of people are on State assistance and fixed incomes. Not that that is a bad thing but you need to understand that not all people who get assistance are super clean and respectful. Again, It's sad that your experience is so awful. I hope that your next apartment will better meet your expectations.

Chrissy - Thank you for your response. I, myself do not have any medical concerns. I guess I should have elaborated more. Due to issues that the complex has had with other tenants, I don't feel as if it is my business to hear about other peoples problems. This has made me feel as though I cannot speak in confidence if I have an issue with another tenant because of possible retaliation. I am afraid to file a complaint because I feel as if it is not kept private. There has been some incidences where the manager has divuldged details of which she should keep to herself as a professional. Other than that, I try and keep to myself as much as possible and be as tolerant as I can until I can afford to buy a house again. And I do agree with the low-income life as you suggested. I guess the 'newness' of the complex was deceiving in that respect and was what lured me in. I figured people would be more respectful here. As far the dog feces. I don't know what side you're on - but I am dodging piles at least 3 times a week while walking the grounds. And the spa: Yes, there has been a gentleman with a 2 year old girl bathing in the spa on a few occasions. I am happy to say that there is since a new rule that no one is to go into the spa unless they are 6 or older.

these reviews are hilarious! I used to work here and can I say low income describes itself? First of all most of the people that move in here are more broke than broke is broke. They missed out on how to clean their apartment, they complain alllllllllll the time, they move in at springfield so that they can dump off their kids at the leasing office daycare center until 10pm and even after 10pm closing time, they still lurke around the complex until wee hours in the morning. Low income people that live here have no etiquette, no manners, poor grammar, horrible social skills and you might as well call in springfield institude. The rent is extremely wayy too high for what you get! When they say you're getting a 'deal' they're lying! You can very well find a more affordable apartment with LESS hellions running around for cheaper! Please everyone - even if you're broke, don't move in here. The rules are endless!

Low income? HA HA they charged my family 750.00 for a one bedroom there and told them they could move out at the end of the month and then told them they had to pay 750.00 move out early fee. This place is a rip off and the whole amangement staff is rude and I would think twice before moving to this place. I would not listen to the managers best friend. Listen to the person who never lived there but had family there.

response to "chrissy". u would have to know the manager personally, because I dont know anyone else that would lie to defend her. Ive lived here 6 months and me and my kids have all stepped in dog "poo" at least once, and my car too is constantly vandalized, and im not the only one. "low-income" has nothing to do with these issues, when an apartment complex has issues, theres only one cause: bad management. if it were certain people, then management should handle them accordingly. i agree with the post, she worries more about things that are none of her business, and less on the stuff that should be seriously addressed. its great that u stick up for your friend, but talking to other tenants and reading all the reviews, its obvious most favor my opinion as well. the turn-over rate here is appalling, that that should speak for itself!

I am a new resident here and think that the "low income" exuse is very rude and often misused!!! I am a single working mother and find it hard to make ends meet but that does not mean I dont have etiquete or take care of my family. Myself and my children have manners and take pride in ourselves. Maybe the next time you all want to use the words "low income families" in a negative conotaion you should stop and concider that not all low income familes have the same values as others.

My suggestion for those who still live ther: Are you just complaining or actually trying to improve your community? When I lived there my kids picked up "our" dog poop regularly. The dollar store sells the bags for $1.00 for 50. Granted, if you have no dog, no one would expect you to do this, but for gawds sake if you see someone not picking up, report them! Same with unruly kids, whatever. I never hesitated to confront an obnoxious neighbor when I lived there, someone who was making my life hell. Why should I? Why should you? But to make blanket statements like "everyone does..." or "no one..." is just untrue and unfair and that should be obvious. I know this complex well. I lived there a long time. There is a reason I don't live there anymore. Some of these remarks, though in my opinion, are pretty outrageous. I wonder how many people on this site are complaining about each other without knowing it. Now there's a funny thought!
