My boyfriend and I really needed a place and had very little income. We moved into a studio that was perfect for us at the time. I've read a lot of these reviews and some I agree with but most are ridiculous. Our overall experience was not too shabby.
The apartments were not built to perfection but what do you expect from apartments' Now that I've had a chance to live in other places, Springfield Meadows is pretty decent. The appliances are not top of the line but again, it's apartment living and I don't know of any place that offers top of the line appliances. If you don't like them, buy your own! I honestly wish my current apartment had the same appliances as Springfield.
When it comes to management, I thought they did pretty well. There are over 100 apartments and when I lived there, they had 5 office people and 3 maintenance guys. It did take some time to move in, but management told us it would take a while so when it took 2 weeks, we weren't surprised. They're income restricted apartments and it takes time to verify everything.
I thought the maintenance guys did very well for all they had to handle. Whenever I filled out a work order, they completed my requests in a timely manner. Now, when people ask that they be there when the work is done and they're never home, of course it's going to take a while for the work to get completed.
When it comes to noise from the neighbors, we had friends that lived in a 2 bedroom right in the middle of the building. Yes you could sometimes hear your neighbors but again, it's apartment living. If you don't like noise from neighbors, rent a house!
I noticed some people complaining about bugs. It's the Pacific Northwest people, there are bugs here. You can bomb your apartment as much as you want but if you're on the bottom floor, you're gonna get ants. If you can't handle the bugs, go live somewhere where they don't have bugs.
Now, the only negative thing I have to say is that there were more children there than I would've liked but I don't really like kids to begin with. The kids were loud and ran around all the time but guess what' That's what kids do! The people who complained to management about kids running around and being obnoxious are stupid. It's not the managers fault that people aren't disciplining their own children. If you can't discipline your own kids, don't have any!
Police were there every once in a while but police are in every apartment community. Even the really expensive apartments. I've never heard of a place that cops don't go to.
I can honestly say that for low income apartments, Springfield Meadows is way better than any other low income apartments I've seen.

You see Springfield Meadows as low-income housing ... that explains a lot. Just because you've had worse stoves doesn't mean that Springfield's aren't horrible - and no, they won't let you install your own. You spend a lot of time defending the managers and maintenance people. You point out that they are under-staffed and overworked and people should give them a break. This is supposed to be a review of the apartment complex ... not your friends. And yes, it is management's responsibility to make sure unruly people are not on the property - this includes children.

Springfield Meadows IS low-income housing. That's not to say anything's wrong with having a low income. Obviously I lived there and was glad to find such a nice low-income place. Just because I don't make that much money doesn't mean I want to live in a slum! If you had read my review accurately, you would see that I did review the apartment complex and staff is part of that complex. I'm not saying Springfield Meadows is the perfect place to live but it's a heck of a lot better than what people were complaining about. Remember a review is based on people's opinions not facts. You don't have to agree with what I've said but just because my opinion differs from other opinions, doesn't mean I was BFF's with management or that I work there.

Wow these two 'glowing' reviews back to back MUST be Valerie Hayes because as the author pointed out in both reviews, "It's not management's fault". You'll get that exact same line from her everytime she opens her mouth about a problem. That is unless she is making up lies about you because you won't just put up with all the bs there! Please heed the majority of the resposes here and STAY AWAY!!! Especially if you have children.
