Apartments are Fine. Management not so much.

The apartments are actually really nice. We lived in a one bedroom with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace for about 2 years. The management however leaves something to be desired.
They decided to up our rent from $690 to $740 then to $790 in the two years we lived there so we decided to leave. One of the mangers there told us that we could stay for half a month and we would only pay for the days that we were actually in the apartment and not the whole month. Once we had everything set up for move in at a new apartment, they told us we would have to pay for the whole month regardless of what one of their employees had told us. So we shifted our move out date.
Then when we moved out we were informed that we would be paying carpet cleaning and maid fees. This was not in our contract and never mentioned before. We have lived in apartments for the last 7 years and have always gotten our deposit back and never had to pay cleaning fees. The manager informed us that this was standard and they shouldn't have to pay for our "mess"! There was no mess to speak of and I have never been spoken to like that by any apartment personnel in all the time we have lived in apartments. She was very angry and rude.
I don't believe that the apartments are worth the new price and I would encourage potential renters to look around the neighborhood. There are much nicer places with bigger apartments and air conditioning(!) for the same price or lower.
