The management company Riverstone Residential charges a $200 deposit when you move, their sales reps tell you that only rug cleaning fee of $55 will be taken out if the apartment is in good condition. The week before we moved out we scheduled an appointment for a walk through. The day of the appointment they told us that no one was available. So we were shocked when we found out we owed $95 after they charged $100 for paint touch up and $145 cleaning. After Calling the management and Riverstone they explained that these are normal charges for them to get the apartment rentable. Even though we left place spotless and only touch up required for pin size holes in the wall we made when we hung up pictures. If I knew that it was going to cost me a $100 to hang up pictures I would never have done it. Washington law requires that landlords reimburse deposits for damage beyond any wear and tear. They are breaking the law.
