Well it's been a tough go, but the new management team is doing a great job! They had a lot of crap to clean up from the previous mgmt and have made some nice improvements. Not only to fixing rotten wood, but to upgrading interiors. They have also gotten rid of employees who didn't make the grade. They are continually making changes which are an improvement and making this place a lot better to live in. More changes are to come and I look forward to them.

This comment was written by a liar. Becase I looked in the window of the managment office and the worthless manager, ---- was still there and leaving early while she was picking her kids up from school. Or it was written by the rejects at GMC themselvs. Shame on you for writing false statments as these. you should be ashamed of your selfs.

So you were snooping around? How do you know what she was doing or where she was headed?

I know that she that she's out picking up her kids from whatever when I walk to the office as she's leaving with an empty car, mind you she leaves in the middle of a business day with the "open, come on in" sign in place. Then while I wait around for a half hour for her to return she comes back with a car full of kids with backpacks on. They are in there so seldom that they installed a phone to leave a message on next to the office door. lol

Sorry but this comment was written by an employee I have tried to submit my own complaint and hit an email snag but very unhappy. My husband my 3 month old and my 14 year old daughter sold our home to build on our property. I said to my husband we can live in an apartment while we build, I promise to be happy there. So we decided on February 1st 2008 we would move to the Village on 7th Street based on how convenient to my 14 year olds school. The manager (Carrie,Kerry) informed my husband we would have to start paying rent January 10th. So instead of waiting till February 1st to move out of our home we sold we moved in on January 10th. Within a few days of moving in we are notified that the maintenance team would need to enter our apartment to replace windows in our unit due to a pending work order before we moved into the unit. Before the end of January they needed to enter the apartment for 2 more pending work orders. Seems to me they could have done the pending work orders before we moved in and allowed us to move in on February 1st as we had requested. I spilt 409 I repeat 409 on the carpet upon moving in, I spilt the 409 in 2 spots. the 409 ate a small hole in the carpet in both places. I went to the office to report the incident and was greeted by Denise the weekend mangaer, she simply stated YEA we put pretty cheap carpet in the units to avoid costly repairs when tenants move out of their apartments. After living in the apartment for a few short months I had found myself in the office complaining about almost everything. The noise from the neighbors above us amazing. I guess the boyfriend had a weight set that he drug out of the closet every morning at 10am, and proceeded to work out for one hour. you cannot believe the noise that makes in the apartment below you. Management informed me it was my problem and I had to confront them (the lease says you cannot have weight equipment in an upstairs unit), so I surely do not think it was my issue to handle. The boyfriend turned 40 it took 4 days to celebrate this, and then the office issued me a notice that he would be having a party in the community room on Sunday, that being louder than the other four days we had already indured. Want to talk about parking issues, I have a permanent handicap sticker for my vehicle. Outside my apartment was a handicap spot, the mangaer informed my husband that would be my parking spot and to make sure I always displayed my sticker. I came home more nights than not to find the spot taken by only a non-handicapped vehicle but a non-resident visiting a neighbor. The apartment management company posted a POST HANDICAP sign at the spot to resolve the issue, what a joke it was an Oregon sign they had gotten from another property (hello we live in Washington). Needless to say it was not only laughed at but ignored. I have a second vehicle that I am unable to drive at the current time, my tags expired on it June 30th, on July 1st I had a tow notice on the car. I simply went and got new tags for the vehicle. when placing the tags on the vehicle I noticed a trucks tags parked directly behind my car tags expired in 2006. Again I took pictures and went and asked KERRY why would my car be tagged after being expired one day and the truck be there with 2 year old tags, again stating to the effect that was not my business. My unit was YES in front of the pool our doors faced the sidewalk to the entry to the pool. we had kids climbing the gate, homeless people living in the weight room. Smokers standing outside the fence throwing cigarettes on the ground. Since my husband and I were both outside smokers we were accused constantly of the butts. Even had a sleeping bag thrown at me by mistake one morning when coming in from working a graveyard shift by the people coming out of the weight room for the night. We also paid a pet deposit and yes it is a pet FEE $300 pet fee it is not refundable. My dog is a Shih-Tzu, she is not a puppy she is 4 years old and all her puppy toileting is long done. we had baggies we took when she pooped, we received notices that we were not cleaning up behind our dog. we were able to take pictures of stray dogs or what appeared to be stray dogs using the lawn, as well as tenants walking their dogs and not picking up after them. The manager did not want to see the pictures. So as you have probably figured I was not able to keep my word to my husband and live in THIS apartment, so I went to give notice. Told Kerry I would be moving out the end of June, thus being informed my 6 months did not begin till February 1st not January 10th and I would have to wait to give notice till July. I signed a Notice to Vacate and asked for a copy to which I was told I would receive it in the mail by Denise. I never received the copy, I am surprised they never came back on me saying I did not give one, they were able to get me another way. My husband spoke with Kerry over the telephone in regards to the deposits they had so willingly took from us, and her response to him was "The apartment looks great, minimal charge will be given for the two holes in the carpet and refund will arrive soon". As luck would have it while I was picking up the last of my things a tenant at the apartment complex looked at my unit, she thought I was moving into the apartment not out, she was amazed at how clean it was. I had never met the tenant before, but thankfully I was able to learn what unit she lived. I finally received my refund check laughing to myself if that is what you wish to call it. I was charged to replace carpet throughout my unit, stating massive pet damage and urine, NOT TRUE. Stating that longer than a half hour was needed to clean my unit, HUH. Holes throughout my unit because I was not supposed to hang anything on the walls unless I lived there 2 years. I only even hung anything in that apartment in the hallway which were awards my daughter had won in school academic programs. When I moved out of my unit two of the other three units were moving out at the same time all complaining about management issues. I had stood at that office too many days waiting for Kerry to return from the school not even two blocks away from picking up her kids, stood there waiting for her to according to her deposit her child support check, Wal-Greens and other errands. I had been outside smoking on seberal evenings when she came to bolt the pool gate, is this really a task we need to do intoxicated. And while walking our dog and NOT picking up after the animal. My husband had/has every intention of taking the management company to court, but has had little time to do as we moved into the existing home on our property and the building of the new one and work and basically life. My only hope is that someone reads this and decides against moving into the apartments. If anyone should ever want pictures I have move in pictures of my apartment move out pictures and the truck pictures still available. Somewhere lost in the move is the pictures of the dogs using the lawn as a public toilet. The maintenance man Rob was very friendly and seemed to be very good at his job. The swimming pool and hit tub were closed more than it was opened, with management stating heating issues with the pool. Broken equipment in the pump house. The hot tub had to be resurfaced during season not when it could have been closed any time before. Then the hottub was closed for BUBBLES in the tub, Denise stating that a tenant had put bubbles in the hottub, the company that came out to fix the filter system said the bubbles were from improper chemicals added to the water, not bubbles. At 7am maintenance crews came and replaced outside siding and decking to several units making the noise level extremely high. At no point was I informed they would be entering my apartment and had I not been home I would have never known they did, but rather heard my lock turning and ran in my robe to get the door. Finding out from neighbors that their apartments had been entered as well. When they replaced my backdoor and I have no idea still to tis day why they did this, they never finished the job. My door casing were left unpainted and the door stopper was left off the metal stopper putting a hole in the wall behind the stopper. My husband after seeing an apartment catch on fire froma Dryer went and cleaned all outside Dryer vents by our unit as they were all plugged with lint. I again brought it to the attention of Kerry the manager, who informed me that doing that was on the list, and we be gotten to as soon as they could find the time. Sure would like to know how much the tenant that actually had the fire had to pay for damage that may or may not have been her fault, but the fire department did say it was LINT from the dryer that caught on fire. Our building had the misfortune of losing outside lighting in its entirety, I think it took about a week and a half to get this fixed. It occured around the same time the Cinema right down the street was robbed at gun point. Would you have felt safe carrying an infant on a dark sidewalk. While leaving the apartments one evening to pick my own daughter up from the middle school around teh corner I witnessed 5 kids on bikes and witneesed throwing and a neighbor running outside, screaming they threw a rock through my window just missing his 2 year old son. The management again did not care stating NOT my business, mind you the window that was hit was only a few windows down from where my infant sleeps every night. My refund was well under $200, I hope yours is higher than that. Would I recommend you moving in to the Village NO, but in the same breath unless you can affird it do not move out either, they will hit you and hit you hard with move out fees.
