Generally a nice place.

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I have lived here for two years now and in general have been really happy with it. The front office is very friendly and helpful, and maintainance issues are delt with promptly.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind though. First, after your lease is up, expect your rent to increase 25-50%. This is basically the case at all Archstone properties. The first year my rent was $1080 for my two bedroom 1 bath apartment. After the one year lease was up the rent was raised to $1350; a $270 rent increase. This came as a big shock! $270 is a lot of extra money each month, for someone on an income like mine. I did choose to stay, however I'm sure when the time comes to sign a new lease, the rent will be increased another 25%, which would be $338. That would make my rent $1693. That will force me to move.
Also, all the ground floor apartments were flooded up to 4 feet in December 2007. They have ripped out the walls and are redoing the apartments, but the place smells of mold and is getting quite moldy. Archstone acted quickly to help the people affected, which is more than would happen with some property managers. However, I would recommend not renting a first floor apartment. When it floods again, you will be risking losing everything.
