They have raised our rent by $200 within the past year and a half, but continuously ignore our requests to fix issues inside our apartment. On top of the added rental costs, they also bill us $80 extra per month for our water. Yes, that's $80 PER MONTH for just WATER. The windows are not sealed so the $200 a month heating bill is also burdensome. We have asked for assistance in fixing our dryer, but got the response that it's good enough (it takes three runs through the dry cycle to dry one load of laundry).

We have requested in writing to have small repairs done that have been ignored and we have been excellent renters for 4 years, never late with our rent and always understanding when they needed to do something to the grounds (like taking six weeks to paint the complex, parking in other places so paint doesn't get on our cars) THEN THEY PROMPTLY RAISE OUR RENT! Instead of fixing the dry rot on the buildings, they painted over it. Instead of fixing the inside of the apartments, they cover the ugliness on the outside and blame their tenants for the poor shape the inside is in. We were told we needed new carpet four years ago when we moved in, but when we recently requested to have it replaced, we were told it wasn't necessary.

We start a fire in the fireplace and the chimney is so clogged up, the smoke fills our apartment and sets off the fire alarm. Our thermostat doesn't work properly so if we want heat, we have to have it on constantly (paying hundreds more on our electric bill) or suffer in the 30 degree weather. The windows aren't sealed around the frame of the windows so we get a constant breeze from each of them in every room, causing any heat we do get to dissipate quickly. The door frames aren't sealed either.

So, if you decide to move here, expect your heating bills and your water bills to equal 1/3 of your rent (we pay $925 for rent but also pay an extra $300 a month in bills because of the over charged water bill and the heating bill because this place does not hold heat due to poor construction). On top of all these extra charges, don't expect to have anything repaired any time soon or expect to repair it yourself.

We also have had pest problems so if you're squeamish about bugs and rodents, this would not be the place for you. We had a severe ant/termite problem when we first moved in and there are rodents living in the walls. The ants and termites were killed due to us spraying then a few weeks later, they had an exterminator come out (finally), but the scratching in the walls has continued for the entire duration of our stay here. I just hope they don't find a way into our apartment and start chewing things up or worse, cause a fire by chewing on electrical wires inside the walls.

I do not recommend living here and we are fed up with no customer service and are actively looking for a better place to live. If you are a smoker, you are not allowed to be anywhere on the grounds to smoke either or you will be evicted.
You will also be evicted if you complain too much and if you are late on paying your water bill, even though the property management company, Cornell and Associates, has skirted around state law by having a Texas company handle the billing for the water. These slumlords (Cornell and Associates) will do anything to make a buck, but never extend service to the actual renter.
