Do not move in here.

Everyone who lives at Cornerstone Apartments is here for one reason; we are down on our luck and need cheap rent. This is an income guided complex. And trust me, you get what you pay for. The office staff is rude and inconsiderate. They do not answer their phone or return calls left on the machine. It took them a month and a half to change a light bulb; it took them over 2 weeks to fix a dish washer; about 2 months to fix a refrigerator; we were supposed to have a filter in our heater replaced about 2 months ago, that hasn't happened. The website says the pool is heated; it is not. We have had about $100 or more in childrens toys thrown away that were left in the play areas.
It all comes down to this: people who are here are here because we are down on our luck. And we are treated like garbage because of that. The managers of this complex know very well that poor people do not have the means needed to fight injustices or unfairness. We're busy with work and kids. If we made enough money, we could afford to take a day off to challenge the corrupt powers that be.
The carpets are worn beyond repair so much that our feet actually ache from walking on it. There are still good patches in some corners and the difference is very noticeable. When the maintenance person came to look at our fridge, I told him it was leaking so bad that it was destroying our food, he said "Call if it gets worse."
I am in the process of finding a legal way to terminate my lease and relieve myself of the agreement thereon. I am also going to inform my city government of the misdeeds taking place on a daily basis. I'm begging you, don't move in here.

I'm am currently living in this exact apartment that those pictures were taken of. Everything you have said is so factual. Most of us are decent, hard working people that are recovering from job loss or some other disaster. Unfortunatly our rude and inconsiderate management also rent to gangsters, druggies, and trouble makers and then do nothing about the problems they cause. It could really use some cleaning up around here in both management and tenants. Druggies out and good, honest low income, family oriented tenants in!

I once considered making up a flier to post on each door to get opinions from the people who live there to see if they are similarly dissatisfied. I had a few conversations with the manager of the complex who is Arlene's boss and she seems to think that most people are happy there; I think poor, ignorant people are either unaware of how to and who to complain to or are afraid of retaliation if they do so. gcwjr85@gmail.com is my email address. Let me know if I can be of any help since I've had some experience there. I strongly recommend Associated Daybreak Property Management. I'm renting from them now and they have been awesome. ps, when you move out of cornerstone, make sure it's cleaner than a whistle; i mean the door of the dishwasher, wipe down every wall thoroughly and do a pre-moveout walkthrough so they can tell you what to do more of if you miss something; i had two people spend 8 hours cleaning our unit after we moved all our stuff out and they took our whole deposit and charged us $100!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!

The complaints here are very real and true! I was visiting, when I needed to climb the stairs to the upper apartment. The hand rails were so filthy and desperately needed painting. When leaving I nearly fell when my shoe caught on a loose piece of metal flashing on the top step of the first flight of stairs. I was in the parking lot when I saw the maintance man walking down the sidewalk. I told him about the step and after showing him the loose flashing he nodded and said, " Now you know" and dismissed me. I told him someone was going to really get hurt when they fell down the stairs. He didn't answer. apparently, he or the establishment do not care. While visiting, cigarette, and whatever smoke from the other apartments comes into the bathroom vent system and nearly chokes you to death. Again the management does not care. It is not a safe place to be, and I really feel sorry for these families who have children and have to live there because of their fiancial hardships. I know there are good peaple who have no other choice but to live where they can afford to live. and it is not fair that the management can't repair, replace, and maintain the apartments. Is there not a code of law? I know it must be difficult to have people destroy the apartments just befor moving out. But PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT MAKE EVERYONE SUFFER BECAUSE OF A FEW BAD APPLES.
