I relocated to Appleton for work and lived at this complex for a few months while house hunting.

The apartment itself was decent- very outdated but clean and in good repair. I did have an issue with noise from above as other posters have stated. This is definately a construction issue. No one expects soundproofing in an apartment complex but quality construction will keep you from hearing every footprint/conversation your neighbors have. It was pretty annoying. I would definately recommend an upper unit to any prospective tenants.

The staff were always pleasant but didn't seem particularly knowledgable. They were rarely able to answer questions and took too long to return phone calls. I did have an issue with someone entering my apartment one time without giving notice- and no, there was not any type of emergency. From reading other posts, that seems to be a common issue.

The grounds would be lovely if they were maintained a little better. Grass was dead, landscaping was half dead. But they do have a nice, big lake and a pretty gazebo. Lots of dogs in the neighborhood and many that are not cleaned up after- but you probably get that in any multifamily living situation.

There was a nice mix of residents- families, young professionals, and older couples. It didn't seem to attract any of the college students- probably due to location/price.

Several of my coworkers used this complex for temporary housing when relocating here as well- all had similar feelings. Now that I know the area better, there are definately better places I would recommend for a similar price range.
