Don't do it! It is a Huge waste of good good money. Management will tell you it is A Great Place to Live. Mangement even moved out of there! The place is going down hill at a rapid rate. And before the company even begins to catch on to what is going on there-it will be too late and be very costly for them to make repairs! Most People who live there, are not happy! It is not a Secure Building. The parking lot is not even a safe place. Cars are broken into not so much by people who don't live-but from the kids who do! The ratings reviews about Mold, are not to be ignored...several units have th problem. It is not a clean place inside, just walk into the place and you will smell urine. No matter what floor you live on, the hall ways stink! Carpets in the units are not cleaned after someone moves out. Mine smelled of animal waste and human urine. A carpet cleaner companny even explained to me that what I was smelling, was Human Urine! But my carpets, still have not been cleaned! Depending on if you are in the good graces of management or not, you will get assistance in your complaints or not. Rules are made up, changed and explained as: managements right to do so. Big Dogs are allowed to live there, which means barking, howling, normal things that a large dog does-the dog isn't too blame for the noise level that they make-management is! Walk outside on the grounds and you will see, if not walk into dog poop. Forget letting your child play outside on the lawn. Apartment living means living in close quarters with others but when you can hear their toilets flushing, as one review stated....that is not all that you can hear! The Laundry Room, what a problem! The machines in there are for a family to use...not a whole building! It will eat your money up, where rent leaves off at. To Dry your clothes, be prepared to spend at least $6.00 to dry ONE LOAD. Trash cans outside are over flowing and on the ground! Glass is broken on the parking lot area. Doors are left ajar, for people who don't live there. Or best of all, ring up an apartment number from the entry way and you are more likely to be Let In-then not, even if that person doesn't know you. Secure''' I think not! These reviews will be remarked by management, as untrue! But ASK the people who live there and those who have moved out! Don't waste your money, renting from that place. There are far better places in Beaver Dam to rent from. There are even Real Estate Companies in town there, that have places to rent. Heed Warning, IF you are considering moving in the area. Read the reviews! Take them Serious, they are from people who have experience.

The Shoe Factory Apartment is a great place to live, as this review states feel free to ask the current tenants, expecially the ones who have lived in the building since day one.
And in response to the numerous personal attacks on managment moving out I would like to apologize to all that believe that my moving out of the building after FIVE years of tenancy was a move made in poor judgment, however with a growing family it was of importance to me for my children to have permanant roots and for us to settle into a house.
If you would like to inquire about the Shoe Factory Apartments and speak directly to the managment in regards to ANY concerns you may due to these reviews or would like to be in contact with a current tenant for their opinions please call the number below.
Hours: Monday thru Friday 10:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Thank you!

Responding to the Anonymous. I don't know who, fran is. I can only speak about my own personal experience there and it was NOT GOOD! After living there for two years however, I believe that I can give a very good description of living at the Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam. I was there when management changed over and it went down hill very fast, after that. I believe that just as much as Apartments have the right to in depth screen their future tenants-tenants should be able to in depth screen the Place they live and Management as well. Had I done that BEFORE I moved into that place, I would of surely lived else where. After the experience living there, the positive thing that came out of it all was We Bought Our Own Home! Our Mortgage is Alot Less, then the monthly rent was. I strongly agree that People Should Not Rent from the Shoe Factory. Renters do your homework and make an Informed Decision BEFORE moving into that place.
