Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I lived there for almost 2 years.
The management couldn't even be bothered to put more paper in their "business center".
The computer was old and decrepit, and there was always porn on it.
When the kids wrecking it got to be too much for her, the mgr. would lock the room up at night so no one could use it.
My apt. was entered without permission several times, and I gave them proof of it because I found things someone had left there!
I complained repeatedly about the people upstairs fighting and hitting his wife, and at first was told that the mgr. would talk to them but later she just told me to call the police.
the post office even said that the mail and packages were routinelt stolen from the hallway there!
I had identity theft committed against me while living there and I am still paying for that! People went through the garbage all the time.
They allow dogs and I am ok with that, but once there was a little yappy one down the hall that barked all day long for 5 days straight! mgr. said --oh, I know-her bark collar needs a new battery.
The heat was once out in the entire building in February, for 5 days.they offered to let me use an ancient unsafe looking oil filled electric one .
Same for A/C, which was out for 3-4 days when it was 90 or more outside, and I had one screen that worked and fit; the others had holes and a slash in, so I couldn't even open the windows.
Repairs were not done for over 6 months; there were cig burns in the carpet, slash marks in the vinyl floor, the garbage disposal didn't work for months....and there was garbage left on the stairs and outside.
If your rent is late at all, they cut your cable and Internet off.
And kiss your security deposit goodbye because they like to hang on to those too.
I loved the apartment because it was very Industrial chic but turned out to be shabby and not well run.
Mgr. moved out because she had a little boy after a girl, and they couldn't legally live in a 2 bedroom place with kids of the opposite sex sharing a room...no kidding, it's an ordinance in many cities.
Once she moved out, we saw her even less.
The hours in the office changed by the hour; she was trying at first to manage this place and a sister one in West Bend...which by the way, is much nicer and gets great reviews........they made you move your cars to the back when it snowed , which was pretty inconvenient, and there was never enough room back there for everyone. And they demand to know the lic. plates for any car that might be visiting you overnight!
