Hmm....well in response "that guy":
For $595/month I get:
-a one bedroom apartment with added room used as office
-heat and water included
-storage (yes, there is storage)
-no garage (there are only 15 spots for the entire building. what would you expect?) and i have NEVER not found a spot - when it's fuller, you may have to park 4 spots from the door instead of right next to it.
-they no longer allow dogs
-my heating is amazing. (maybe 'that guy' needed to have it checked.) i barely have to have it on in the winter and have the AC on at a low setting almost straight through the summer because my windows don't get a good breeze. my heating bill is less than $50 every month.
PLUS:
-LOTS of storage IN the apartment
-dishwasher
-very friendly neighbors AND staff who know your name
-charm! it is HISTORIC!
-community room with huge plasma tv
If you're looking for the cheapest deal on the block, then look somewhere else and find a sterile apartment with NO charm and random un-friendly neighbors and staff. But if you're looking for an apartment you can call home then look here.

Lots of storage? Get your facts straight, there were more than 70 different types of units so 70 different styles. We had a closet downstairs, outdoor parking. Not sure where you were located.
