I lived at Half Moon Lake Apartments for three years. I agree with the other reviewer that the new manager isn't as attentive as the previous ones, but the apartments themselves are quite large and the lake view is excellent. One and a half bathrooms are a plus, as is the large closet space and cheap utility bill (everything other than electricity is covered in the affordable rent). On the 4th of July the fireworks are set off right across the lake and the lake view apartments offer a great view from the porch. Parking can be maddening on this day, though, since management does little to control non-resident parkers. I had to sit in a parking spot to make sure my roommate would have a place to park after work and before the fireworks. The apartments on the parking lot side lack privacy. Lots of college kids live here, so noise is occasionally a problem. Also, there is a huge spider problem. The previous managers used exterminators, but the new manager has done nothing to prevent this. The local bike trail passes right next to the parking lot and the bus to campus passes just a couple of blocks away. Despite my few complaints, this apartment complex is in great shape, especially compared to others located in the area.
