I am wrapping up my one year lease here and although it is ok apartment living on the main floor with thin floors. I could hear footsteps above me all of the time, you could listen to telephone conversations, there are loud horrible noises as they clump up the stairs, the door with an automatic shut that is so loud that all my pictures rattle on the wall, can hear the television and radio, etc. -- practically like living with the person upstairs.
I don't know what it is like to be upstairs and how much that they can hear me -- but not right to have paper thin walls & ceiling. The wall next to my bedroom is so thin that I listen to the person snoring! I had to buy a sound machine to block all of the noise.
For $850 for a one bedroom apartment (plus utilities at $110 gas/electric; 28 for water/electricity) I thought the construction would be better. There are very cheap windows -- the air just blows right through glass and the place is freezing.
On the positive the management team was efficient and maintenance took care of any problems quickly. The snow removal and shoveling was good this winter.

yeah, awful, and then when you mention it to management they harass the poor upstairs tenant, I lived there and a manager actually asked me to ' take of my shoes when I came home and put carpet in the kitchen ' ( at my expense ) to lower the sound of walking for the downstairs tenant!!! At 138 pounds, I am hardly a buffalo!!!!they make living there a nightmare, I counted the days until my lease was up, believe that!!! AND the poor people downstairs were not complaining about ME, they were complaining about lack of soundproofing. SO, not only does the complex stink, they create bad feelings among the tenants to divert the real issue, that the buildings are poorly constructed, read all the feedback about tenants wanting out, and THINK before you sign a lease!!! I have lived in 6 plus complexes and whatnot in this area, the only one with a problem was Manchester Oaks. I never before, and never after living there have had one complaint other than asking for snow removal or something, and then, every other complex gets right on it and resolves any issue, no, Manchester Oaks is the worst place in this area to live, and beware of false promises and plastic smiles, it is only to get you to sign at the dotted line...........
