So-So

I've lived in Whitnall Point for about 2 years now with my Husband and German Shepard dog. we started out with a 1 bedroom, but moved into a 2.
Living there has been so-so. We picked this place because of the dog, its one of the only places that will take most breeds of dogs. German Shepards are not allowed in alot of places.
We pick up after our dog, all year around. I cant say that for others who live there. I've had many times i've had to avoid 'land mines'. there is a strict rule about dogs and leashes that not everyone follows. Same goes with grills out on patios. We got a notice on our door to remove our grill (which was wraped in a tarp obviously unused) yelling that we were not to have it there and next to the building. after we moved it, i noticed how many other residents had their grills out on patios, being used! none of them got notices, but we got a notice....hmmm.

parking is ok. i've usually have gotten a decient spot when i've come home. we dont park on the streets anymore. after someone (unknown person- hit and run in the middle of the night) crashed their car into someone who was parked on the street...that was it! no more parking on the streets! there are people there who use the handicap parking spot that have no handicap, yet they get away with it. i've called the cops, and they have done nothing.

during the winter time the sidewalks are COVERED in salt, a good thing yet bad. it does take them a while to clear out the snow from the parking lots and side walks. we dont live in Beverly Hills here people. they arent going to jump at the snap of fingers, unless you go and live somewhere else and pay triple the money...
As far as the salt goes, there were piles (and I mean piles) of salt right in front of the entry doors that get stuck in my dog's paws and dragged into our apartment and everywhere else. i hope its pet safe salt! i havent checked into that yet...

maintenence is usually ok. we've had our problems fixed usually within a week of calling. the office employees have been ok. my husband usually is the one to make the calls.

yeah, alot of the appliances are cheap and the building walls are thin, but what do you expect' You get what you pay for. you pay a cheap rent, you get cheap living area. we've had problems with loud neighbors, but that's what the cops are for! dont be afraid to call them (if its a persistant bother, not just a one time thing...) we've had the cops called on us for something we didnt do! which was crap.

right now, its just a place while we are in between. we DO NOT plan on living there for much longer than another year (sigh). living here makes me miss having a house, which we will have sometime again.
i'm sure i could go on and on about bad things, but there are a few good to go in there as well. you never hear about the good things from people.

Overall, its a so-so place to live for a while.
