This was my first apartment after owning a home -and seemed very nice at first - when something needed maintenance they were prompt to arrive. HOWEVER, the ongoing maint and upkeep of grounds was not good, and seemed to go downhill. I trimmed my own hedges for a while, sprayed weeds, etc., did minor things myself. The last year I didn't, and hedges were covering the air conditioning unit, and my patio door was tough to get out of because of how overgrown they were. The tree in front hung over the walkway. I had to call several times to get anything done. I understand it was because of lack of workers or refusal by owner to hire more.
Also with being a 'townhouse' type of apartment with two floors, I noticed how cool and drafty the upper floor was, and was told that was normal because of facing west and being upstairs, etc. (doesn't heat rise') Plus if I wanted the furnace cleaned (beyond their maintenance people who were not certified in that field) I would have to pay for it. So I figured possibly the furnace hadn't been cleaned since the building was new' 12-years or so'
I paid the heat bill by the way. May have been different if the owner paid it.
Plus bought plastic for the windows upstairs, and an electric blanket, and an extra heater. BUT the summer was good :)
Anyway, rather then be frustrated (and cold) another winter, I moved.
On the plus side, it was a great neighborhood tho...and a lovely view in the back. Near the East River Trail. Relatively quiet. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
