Not as Nice as "they" say!

Wow. I just read these glowing reviews and want to know how much these folks were paid!'!
This place is no where as nice as "they" say. "They" want you to think that these are indeed a little slice of heaven, but they are just apartments people! They have all the short falls of apartment living. Yes they are larger than most, but they do not give you a lease here, so you are have no protection that a lease would provide. Also, I have found these folks to be highly intrusive and yes, they do go through every thing on their "inspections". They can be most rude to deal with and yes, I have heard from many on how they like to hold on to the deposit. They will even charge you for things that wear out while you are there, such as blinds.
I will be moving out soon and "they" can keep whatever they will of my deposit. I keep my place clean and in order. It is cleaner than when I moved in and I have kept their ever increasingly long list of rules. (I look forward to being able to have real candles this Christmas - "they" don't allow them here!). I watched in horror as the units burned last winter and "they" never said why. Makes me wonder.
No matter what "they" say, these are just apartments not heaven (I think heaven is a much better place than an apartment!) and there are problems here especially with the parking which only gets worse in the winter. Only one garage per unit. The A/C will in no way cool the place even with this cool summer, I had to go buy a portable to help out. Take it for what it is, plan to loose your deposit, plan on rent increases, I had three, and I don't think they do them fairly or evenly, so if you are favored, maybe not.
The area coming in to these is rough as well, so consider that and the steep hill getting here is very treacherous in the winter. And, watch out for what "they" say. IF it sounds too good. . . . AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt

Thanks Maureen for seeing that the dates were incorrect in my posting. I have updated them.

Oh boy are you right on target. I know that the "they" has to be the office staff now! I hope you move out before "they" find out who you are! Guess you can tell you hit a bulls eye when you get that fast a response. Yep, I wonder just how much "they" are paying folks for these reviews! [Oh and another thing platinumdragon it is WERE not was].

I have a question for you. If your years at the apartments was 2008 to 2008 how would you have seen the "horror as the units burned last winter." That was in November of 2007.

Hello, I am and have been the manager of the Brook Park Apts for 14 years. As I have mentioned before on this site, we usually do not respond to the reviews. However, once again Jersey4 indicates that there have been three rental increases in the two years that he lived in the Brook Park community. That is absolutely untrue. The following is when we had rental increases, June 2008, June 2005 and May 2001. None were over $20 increases. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we know that people have left here unhappy. We would ask that when you a bad experience you keep it factual. If you have that many rental increases, something else was going on. You upgraded apartments, had a cat.... something. No one is given an extra rental increase beyond what everyone else has. To say otherwise is bordering on slander. Having "heard" from other people what we do with the security deposit is not a first hand experience that you can review. Look at all of the individuals who got all of their security deposit back. The relationship between landlord and resident is a two way street. Those who had wonderful experiences here, were also wonderful residents and did much of the work in making their time here pleasant and worthwhile. They communicated to the office when something needed to be attended to. They communicated with their neighbors. They maintained their apartment in the condition that they agreed to in their rental agreement. Maintaining an apartment in good condition is not difficult. You just have to put a little work and routine cleaning in while you live there. There have been residents who have done nothing in the way of keeping their apartments in good condition and yes they were probably charged against their security deposits. The majority of our residents get all of their Security Deposit back. As for the fire. When individuals inquired about the fire, we were very honest in telling them what started the fire. The reason we did not make a general announcement about the fire is that it was started by a tenant on their patio. Improper disposal of cigerettes. It would have served no purpose other than to cause this individual more suffering to make that statement in our newsletter. Instead we handled the questions more privately as to keep this person from more embarrassment. It is too bad that you did not simply take the time to ask, as we would have been happy to answer this or any of your questions. When I post a review I use my name. Thank you for reading this review.
