You'll pay the most, but also get the most

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I moved into this complex, which is now called Riverside Place, in May 2008. The building is converting to condominiums, but some rentals are still available. I am moving out next summer because it is too expensive for me, so I have not experienced a move-out yet.
As for the rental units, I have positive and negative comments. Foremost, I have had a great experience with maintenance staff. The common interior areas are kept clean and staff does a great job maintaining the landscaping. Of the few things which have come up since I moved in, maintenance has repaired/replaced quickly; my broken dishwasher was replaced less than 2 days after I reported it.
Other Positives:
- I lived on the river-side of the complex and heard very little noise. I can hear lots of noises above me, but nothing outrageous. I understand that the Washington Street side is noisier because of vehicles and bar patrons.
- Temperature-controlled underground parking has been great in all seasons and is worth the extra $30 per month.
- Management has been respectful of my privacy.
- If you spend a considerable time downtown, the location is excellent as there are only a few places to live in this area.
- For recreation, an excellent bike/running path is adjacent and many businesses are within walking distance.
- The workout room is poor for strength training, but adequate for running/biking.
- The 'party room' is excellent: a billiards table, nice TV and plenty of tables and chairs.
- The view of the river is great in the summer.
- The walk-in closets are very convenient
Negatives:
- The cost. You get a lot out of this apartment, but I presume it is the most expensive one in Green Bay.
- I found it on Rent.com and was supposed to get $100 for signing a lease, but management refused to pay
- Very few visitor parking spaces are available (however, there is free weekend parking in the Cherry Street ramp)
Location factors:
Walking to work downtown saves time, gas and stress! However, downtown living means frequent trips to the east or west side for groceries, clothes, and other household goods. It also means lots of other city noises and lights at later hours than apartments located on the east and west side.
Overall, if you have the money, this is an excellent place to live.
