DONT WASTE YOUR TIME IF YOU UNDER 25...discrimination

Im a 20 year old college student. I pay for my housing with student loans. This year I had decided to move in with a friend of mine and when we went to look at the apartment it was very nice and we were seriously considering living there. Well we both knew that we would need a cosigner because we don't have enough credit yet. Without a cosigner our applications were denied and we were told that they would give us our $140 back ($20 per application and $100 to hold) Since I was limited on time because I work over 40 hours a week I asked if I could use my dad as a cosigner and this became a bit of an issue. I never really understood why but it did. I guess they didn't think that he would be approved even though he has great credit. After he was approved they decided that they were going to double our down deposit (originally $840, now it was going to be $1680) And without actually saying they were basically discriminating against us the lady who had helped us stated that "because we were 20 years old the owner didn't feel that we would be responsible enough". In the beginning she had showed us an upper apartment and said that we would be able to rent that one. Turned out that because of our age we had to have a downstairs apartment and we were even told that "we keep the younger people on the bottom so they dont disrupt anybody". I became very annoyed with the fact that they started to pressure us into a contract and having a $1680 deposit seemed very unreasonable so I decided to look else where. After I had told them that the huge deposit was a deal breaker and that I wanted my money back they told me that they get to keep the money, even though they could not find where it stated that. And I was even under the impression that I would get my money back since they were so willing to give it back the first time we weren't approved. I'm sure it would be a great place if you are older and have all of your own credit, but if you are still in college or a younger person like I am don't waste your time. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S

I am a younger person, and there are a lot of people under 25 here. They are picky. As someone who lives here, I like that. They do not want this place to be a party house. It is quiet, and peaceful. There had to be a reason, as this staff and owner are very nice and understanding.
