We moved into our apartment in 2002. When we toured the apartments management was very nice and answered all of our questions very well. The grounds are beautiful with a creek and woods. So we signed our lease and were on our way and very happy about our decision.
Once we moved in we noticed that the paint job was horrible, it looked like a 1st grader patched up the walls. The carpet had spots all over it and looked nasty (we were assured the carpet would be replaced before we moved in). The kitchen floor had cuts and scraps all over the place. The countertops are cheap and stain easily. You could see the outline of a coffee cup when we moved in. The funny part was there was a note that said the counter tops had been resurfaced by a company and to make sure to take care.
The heating in the winter was horrible. It was like 50 degrees in our apartment and it took maintenance 2 weeks before they got to it. This would have been a minor inconvenience had I not just had a baby with my wife 2 months prior. I told management that we have a young baby and they told me that several tennants were having a problem and we were at the bottom of the list.
You can hear just about everything that your neighbors do, due to the horribly cheap construction of the buildings. I was told that we would have two parking spots when we moved in but we always had to park in the visitors spot. The one spot in the lot that was always open was submerged in water or ice depending on the season.
Please dont make the same mistake we made and rent from this complex. Blake management is a horrible company and should be reported to the better business bureau.
Plus dont expect to get any of your security deposit back even though it wasnt your fault.
