I would really say that this apartment complex is a mix of the good and bad reviews. It's not as horrible as some people say, but it's not as great as others say also. I must say living at American Colony is just okay.

The maintenance staff if nice and quick, however, sometimes it takes a few tries to get things right, which can be a little annoying. The management has never been anything but nice and helpful.

The grounds are okay. No one picks up after their dogs, and it gets a litte disgusting. The apartments are not to great. The insulation is not good, and you'll have high utility bills. When we moved in, the carpet was horrible. There were HUGE stains all over the place and when we told the management about it, they said "how did they know we didn't make the stains." We were there a whole 2 hours, but apparently, that was enough to stain all of the rugs. We won't get our security deposit back. I also agree about the countertops. They are very cheap and stain Super easily. We too had a cup stain on the counter that still has not gone away.

This place isn't great, but if you need a place to live I guess it'll do for a temporary home.
