I've been living here for almost 2 years and the only good thing I can say about this apartment complex is the scenery. When we moved in the previous tenants had cats and when we walked into the bathroom, there was still kitty liter underneath the sink and you could smell the cat urine, the liter box was obviously kept underneath there. When we made the complaint they ripped out the carpet and replaced it, but now we have two different colored carpets in our apartment. The light fixture in the dining room blew up and it took them 2 weeks to get it fixed. The parking is terrible you can never find a parking spot after 5pm, snow removal is the worst. The water pressure is unbelievably weak and leaves lime buildup in our shower, we have to clean it almost weekly. The staff is rude and unhelpful. When I rented out the clubhouse for a baby shower, I got there and all the parking spots were taken. When I called the apartment manager to complain asking where I was supposed to have my guests park, she started laughing and asked me what she should do about it' I highly recommend spending you rent money somewhere else. Overall I would not recommend this apartment complex to my worst enemy.

I totally do not agree with this. I am a previous resident of American Colony and never in my 2 1/2 years of living there have I heard anything like this. I met Ms ------- and she is awsome and very accomodating to all residents. As a resident there you can't tell me you didn't how big the club house parking lot is. I have used it many times and never had a problem. Maybe you should have had your shower at a hotel instead. I love American Colony and plan to move back there because of the great staff members.

Dear Horrible,
About the only thing you got right in your "review" is the manager's name! There is more than adequate parking at the club house if you have a party that is reasonable for that venue. I suggest next time you check the capacity because if you ran out of parking that you were in violation of the fire code. Oh and by the way, your "baby shower" was very disturbing to the other residence in the area, with your loud music....I had to file a complaint about it. Knowing the professional and courteous staff there you should be receiving my complaint soon. The best thing for everyone would be if you just left!

I totally agree with everything you said in this review. I used to live in American colony as well and had the same cat urine stench in my apartment. (with no cats mind you) These other two responses probably came from the office staff trying to make them selves look better. The best thing would be for you to leave so you don't have to deal with that joke of an apartment complex anymore. The place is dirty and should be condemned!

i just had to look at the page because my dad was checking out apartment reviews while looking and got a good laugh at these comments he was right the 2nd and 3rd comment clearly came from management or friends of because who moves back to some apartments because they thought management was nice come on be honest with yourself and if your going to write something about yourself dont make it so obviouse you definatley lost mine and my dads business. your management at american colony is a joke. try the gables in oak creek there nice its where we live now and love it but we have to move because i moved back in with my dad and uts a 1 bdrm.

I dont even live at American Colony but I agree with this review...The staff seems to have issues with racial slurs...That alone stopped me from even attempting to apply..and the should have had the shower at a hotel comment is such a joke why on earth would someone wanna pay a hotel to use a space for a baby shower when paying rent and a space is supposed to be included in rent

I still live here & I do have to agree that there are problems. But, you get problems almost everywhere you move; it's apartment life. If you don't want it, move into a house. As for all of the angry responses, get over it. You don't have to say "dear Horrible" or "the best thing is if you left." By saying both, you are proving how awful you are. My final response: You get what you pay for. This is a cheap rent apartment complex. If you want better quality, staff, and neighbors, try PlumTree or The Gables.

We recently moved into American Colony and I would have to agree with pretty much all the bad reviews. We turned in our report if something was "missed" and needed to be fixed over a month ago & haven't had any type of maintenance person try to call us. The assistant manager is the worst person I've ever dealt with apartment wise & I refuse to have anything to do with her. The pool (when open) is old, cracks all over & dirty. Neighbors are annoying...like most places. Our biggest concern is that things need to be fixed and nobody even has the decency to contact us & set up a time to come out. Why should we pay our rent on time when you guys can't even fix what was suppsosed to be done BEFORE we moved in. Rent is not that expensive but it is definetly too high for the quality. I hate the kitchen it's ugly, old & falling apart. Could've found a MUCH better place for the same price. Grounds are pretty just have to avoid the dog poop..
