Here's the straight scoop on Plumtree. We have lived here for a year and a half and have been very pleased.
There are only two bad things I would mention. One is that it has just so happened that we have had two residents in a row that have lived below us that have been college aged and have been a little noisy. From what I've seen, though, that is a fluke occurance to even have it happen once, much less twice. The vast majority of residents here seem to be young professionals, some older more established people that are just between homes (ie waiting for the dream home to be built), or some getting on toward retirement that don't want the hassles of home ownership anymore.
The other, that has been addressed by some of the other reviewers, has to do with the interaction with the staff. The fact is that most of the staff are fantastic and extremely friendly! However, the manager is on a major power trip and simply is out to veto every resident request simply because she can. There are ways around that, though, by just getting things accomplished without ever talking to her. Yes, she is a bad manager, but the staff is large enough that it doesn't have to be a problem.
In the end, I would HIGHLY recommend Plumtree. The bad things I have listed are more of an occasional annoyance than a problem. If we had to do it all over again, we woudn't think twice about living here. We looked at about 20 apartments before moving here, and let me save you a lot of time by telling you that you will not find a better complex for you money. Oh, and by the way, the pool is awesome: heated and warm as can be even when it is 50 degrees outside.
