Me and my future husband have been looking for a place to live. We decided to try townhomes. If you have a pet this is the place to live.If you don't then don't even come here. We looked at the so-called "lake" which looks like a pond for any flying animal to die in due to the what could be chemicals and rainfall. We actually saw a bird floating dead in it. The pool was an eerie green-blue-foggy grey color and was not even covered up. God only knows what goes on in there.I wouldn't swim in it if I had on three or more layers and a helmut to protect me.There was mennacing bugs flying around the pond area and not to mention people tend to drive through the area as if they were nascar racing. This is not a place you want to raise a new born if you have to worry about speed demons running you down in a ten mile an hour speed limit. There was only two speed bumps on the main drag and none in the drive through roads which would control these crazy speeeders. We were very shocked to see people letting their dogs out and not even picking up the poop when the dogs are done right outside their living environment. Maybe these people like to smell their dog poop...I hope not.We walked through one of the town home areas and their was a dog not even on a leash with its owner standing just inside their home. The dog lunged at us and thankfully we were near our car to get away without being mauled. It was a yellow labrador probably seventy plus pounds, with a mean-scary bark. I can only imagine what the places look like inside if this is what the area consists of outside and how the people treat it.What really got me was that this is a big housing community and there was no-one outside not even sitting on their 5 ft by 5 ft porches. It was almost seventy degrees that day so it was not cold outside. Does the management even walk through or notice this' There is a word for Summit Lake which sums it up perfectly...Sad.

I am a resident of Summit Lake Apartments & Townhomes and I completely disagree with this person.
First of all...the pool is not open yet for the season. What pool looks good when it is still winterized? Once the pool does open, it is crystal clear and the water quality is the best in the area. The reason it is not covered....safety. If someone would fall in and get caught under the cover, they may not be able to get out.

The Lake (pond) does get treated to control the weeds, however; the treatment is not harmful to the wildlife. It is stocked with fish for the fisherman to enjoy (catch and release) and it has a sandy beach for the beach lovers. Picnic tables are placed around it for those who just want to relax.
As for dead birds, sometimes a bird may be injured or sick, doesn't mean they died due to chemicals.

As far as the speed bumps & speeders; these are situations that are being attended to. Do you know someone who has a lead foot? Some people just can't drive the speed limit if they try. Their are speed limit signs and stop signs all over the community.

Now on to the apartments. The apartments and townhomes are always maintained. The lawn is always taken care of on a weekly basis starting in the spring. As to the people who own dogs...well what can I say? Some people regardless of the rules and regulations just don't cooperate. It is a rule that each owner is to keep their four legged pets on a leash and clean up after it each time. Containers are now being stationed throughout the complex for the waste.

I think it is sad that this person did not take the time to see the beauty of the community and actually see one of the apartments.

Happy to be a resident at Summit Lake Apartments.

I am also a resident at Summit Lake and I agree with the 2nd person on this. The pool is very clean during the summer. The staff that is working makes sure the children swimming are being safe and are very welcoming!
There are now garbage cans located all over for people to clean up their dogs messes. There are also stop signs out and posted speed limits. I see kids all over the property and I havent heard of anyone being hit.
