I moved into Palmer House Apartments one year ago and was very excited when they said I could move in early and they would finish with repairs that following week. My closet doors were unattached as they didn t fit with the new carpeting, my fridge was leaking, my screen door didn t open all the way, the bathroom was not painted, there were no blinds on the windows. Little things, but things that needed to be done none the less. I moved out in September of 2009 and none of those repairs were made EXCEPT the blinds on the windows and that was only after my mother had to call and beg them to do it as she was worried about my security and safety with everything constantly being wide open. I had called numerous times; even wrote a letter; and still turned up no results. The repairs probably STILL have yet to be completed. Once I moved out; I never received my security deposit; I am currently having to fill out paperwork for small claims as I never received the deposit OR an itemized list of why I didn t receive the deposit. I also left a forwarding address; yet have still lost mail because they never did anything about it. So I m out a paycheck currently. This could rest on the hands of the post office since I had already filed my change of address with them as well but I wouldn t be surprised if the landlord has something to do with it either. Also, in the winter time be prepared to be completely trapped in the driveway because the people who plow don t arrive until late morning; and then are piling snow up all around your mail box and driving their trucks right in front of your garage basically at prime time when people are trying to leave for work. I had to walk to work a couple days last winter because I could not even get to my garage. And then when we had all those ice storms don t plan on anyone putting any salt out so that you don t slip trying to get back into your apartment. Aside from that, I also had neighbors who enjoyed being EXTREMELY loud; one family was constantly arguing and the other people across the hall were pot heads and partiers. I was very unimpressed with my entire experience there and would not recommend this place to ANYONE EVER!
