We absolutely loved it here. I'm sure a lot had to do with the fact that we got a brand new remodeled unit and were the first ones to move in after they finished it. They are in the process of remodeling all of the buildings, but it's the new ones that you'd want! We had everything we needed and it was all very nice. New stove, microwave and dishwasher. Small, yet new and very nice bathroom. Perfect sized rooms, walk in closet, new carpet, air conditioning... the list goes on. We only had to pay for internet and electric. Not huge bills at all. No, it isn't absolutely perfect, but not a lot of places are for this price. I mean, the price is almost unbeatable. In a place like Madison or Milwaukee we would have paid significantly more than what we did on rent, and probably for less amenities. I even knew other people that rented in Janesville that were surprised at how low it was. Splitting the rent was so cheap! It was a little more for us because of our pet rent, but that wasn't much more at all than the original rate. The landlords are extremely nice here, and absolutely love animals. They were so nice about our cat! (I'm not sure about the dog policy, but I know they love them, too!) Yes, the walls are a bit thin (which was unfortunate because my boyfriend and I sing and play guitar and we just couldn't as much because we didn't want to disturb neighbors), you can hear upstairs neighbors walking around sometimes (we were in an upper so didn't have to deal with it), and the water can turn hot or cold suddenly on occasion! But, since the buildings are on the older side, it was understandable to me. For this price to have a newly remodeled unit to call home, it was really all we needed! We'd have stayed here much longer if it was closer to Madison where we both found new jobs. I loved sitting on our little balcony tending to my flowers or watching the sunset, and relaxing in our sunny spare bedroom doing artwork. We're going to miss this place.
